Palio di Feltre Associazione

It is not just a simple banner. It is not for a piece of cloth that the four districts of the city compete in skill tests for which they prepare for an entire year. The Palio di Feltre, which has been created since 1986 by world-renowned artists, is a symbol rich in meanings,  an event deeply felt that arises from the contribution of hundreds of volunteers. Made by the people of Feltre and deeply rooted in the territory and history of the city, the Palio is today a highly appealing event even beyond local borders.

Since 1979, Feltre has renewed ancient celebrations and celebrates its spontaneous dedication to Venice in 1404 by reenacting the symbolic ceremony of handing over the city keys to the ambassador Bartolomeo Nani which sealed the connection between the city’s fate and that of the Serenissima. Precisely on this occasion, in memory of the event, it was decided to put up every year 15 gold ducats to be awarded to the winner of the games.
