Museo Valentino Del Fabbro

Museo Valentino Del Fabbro

The tools and objects of the past that make up Fioretto Bortot’s ethnographic collection have been passionately gathered by the collector with the intent to reunite the material testimonies of the history of farmers and artisans from the Val Belluna and surrounding valleys, between the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.

Particularly rich and interesting are the sections that illustrate artisanal activities, such as the one dedicated to the carpentry shop, where a showcase of planes for different uses is displayed, or that of the shoemaker with the table on which hammers, tacks, pitchers, and awls are laid, and again, the section dedicated to construction with the cassela de le inpreste, the frattazzi, and the levels.

Outside, under a large canopy, the bulkiest items are placed, such as agricultural wagons, plows, machines for sowing wheat and beans, and wheelbarrows.

The Museum hosts equipment related to the trades of the past, collected by its creator over the years with loving care: tools for haymaking, for spinning, the working tools of the blacksmith, the shoemaker, the stonemason, the carpenter, and the knife grinder.
