“LaCharta” is a cultural association that manages the spaces of the formal Cartiera of Vas, through the organization of activities for the discover the complex of industrial archaeology.
The Vas paper mill was an Italian industry for paper production. After centuries of history, the ancient factory is now an active cultural and educational center, where it is possible to take guided tours and then personally experience the different phases of producing a sheet of handmade paper.
The site of the historic factory is located in the homonymous village, part of the municipality of Setteville. Founded in the 17th century, it was one of the most important paper mills in the Republic of Venice during the last phase of its history[1], and continued its industrial activity until the second half of the 1900s.
The LaCharta association is responsible for managing and enhancing the spaces of the industrial archaeology complex of the former Vas Paper Mill after the restoration that took place between 2005 and 2012.
The activities include guided tours, organization of workshops and events.
