Tosella cheese, very similar to the Schiz, was consumed by the herdsmen who took away, to the most valuable and marketable alpine cheese, a small amount of curd in order to satisfy their need for daily subsistence.
Tosella is really appreciated today for its authenticity which is associated with the life in the malgas (huts) where it can be tasted in the period between may and september. The Tosella is a very soft cheese and has to be consumed very fresh. It has a white colour and it can be salted when serving.

Serving suggestions:
the Tosella can be eaten grilled, breaded or toasted in the oven accompanied by a good bottle of Prosecco.
