Presentazione del libro “Barch e méde”

8 May @ 0:00

An interesting volume dedicated to traditional haymaking and the artifacts used for hay preservation is being presented. In the book, Marco Rech explores the dialectal terms related to the world of haymaking, recovering a valuable linguistic heritage. Serena Turrin delves into livestock farming in the mountains and the art of traditional haymaking, while Dante Rech illustrates how to create barch and méde, structures that symbolize the local rural culture.

The work is enriched by a contribution from Gigi Corazzol, a writer and historian, dedicated to the numerous hay barns of Fonzaso that characterize the plain. The volume is completed with evocative photographs by Serena Turrin of barch and méde in the different seasons. The book is the first in a series dedicated to popular traditions, published by Edizioni DBS on the occasion of the Festa dei Moroni of Rasai di Seren del Grappa.
