La chiesa di San Pietro a Belluno e la sua storia dalle origini ad oggi
The AMICI del MUSEO Association in Belluno will dedicate the first meetings of 2026 to the knowledge of Belluno, the city in which it operates.
It will focus on one of the most significant architectural, artistic, and religious complexes: the Church of San Pietro, for which the 700th anniversary of its dedication will be celebrated in 2026.
An oasis of silence, prayer, and historical memory in one of the oldest parts of the city, which develops along the perimeter of the Roman quadrilateral that borders the Ardo stream.
The Church was desired by the CONVENTUAL MINOR FRANCISCANS who had inhabited the adjacent convent of San Pietro since the end of the 1200s, of which the Gothic Cloister, currently visitable, is an integral part.
This second meeting will be led by Don Giacomo Mazzorana, from the Scientific Committee of the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art of Belluno – Feltre, who on Sunday, April 26, at 5:00 PM, will guide those interested in discovering the artistic treasures of the Church.
The meeting is free of charge.
