In marcia dalla steppa al Polo nord

21 March @ 0:00

When talking about the Great War, one thinks of the static battles on the Western Front. This book, however, presents an unusual and little-known perspective. The first part discusses the Italian ethnic prisoners fighting in the Austro-Hungarian army who were captured by the Russians on the Eastern Front and who lived through the incredible journey across Siberia to return to Italy as redeemed citizens; the second part covers the Italian expeditionary force in Murmansk, sent almost to the Arctic Circle, to counter the German threat first and then the Bolshevik threat.  Presentation of the book “Marching from the Steppe to the North Pole. Italians in Russia during the Great War” by Fabio Dal Din, Ravizza Publisher
