Maurizio Bottegal
INSTRUCTOR AND OWNER OF THE SCHOOL
Maurizio Bottegal, born in Zurich (CH) on 29/11/1962, began flying in paragliding towards the end of 1987, and it was love at first sight. He has won 20 titles at the national and international level since starting his competitive career in 1989 (13 appearances for the National Team).
Since 1991, he has been an instructor and examiner for free flight certified by the Aero Club of Italy.
Since 1992, he has directed the Monte Avena paragliding school, where he personally conducts basic, safety, and advanced courses. He collaborates continuously with industry magazines, often contributing articles on flight techniques and materials. He also works with clothing companies to develop specific garments for flying. He is a tester for the tuning of paragliders for the German company Swing, for which he is the sole dealer in Italy.
Since 2006, he has been the creator of “Volare Meglio,” a theoretical and practical course based on the correct mental attitude to improve one’s free flight skills. He was the competition director for the 15th FAI Paragliding World Championship held in July 2017 at Monte Avena – Feltre.
