Ice skating in Belluno

A must-do winter experience in the Dolomites

The Province of Belluno is one of Italy’s historic hubs for ice sports, and the PalaFeltre Ice Stadium, located in Valbelluna, stands out as one of the most important ice facilities in northeastern Italy. Set on the northern slope of Colle delle Capre, just below the charming historic center of Feltre, this modern venue is dedicated to winter ice sports and entertainment.

With a seating capacity of 2,350 spectators, the arena is extremely versatile and perfectly suited for hosting sporting events, shows, and public skating sessions. Inside, visitors will find a ticket office, a skate rental service with over 1,000 pairs of skates (including children’s sizes), changing rooms with showers, restrooms, a first-aid area, meeting rooms, administrative offices, and a refreshment area with a bar and kiosk. Large parking areas are available outside the facility.
The ice rink is open from September to April, welcoming more than 200 athletes from sports clubs and amateur teams every day, as well as over 30,000 visitors during public skating sessions on weekends and holidays.

The PalaFeltre is not only a training and competition venue for ice hockey and figure skating athletes, but also a lively gathering place filled with excitement. Home games of the local ice hockey team attract one of the most passionate fan bases in Italy, turning every match into a true spectacle. Throughout the season, the arena also hosts several figure skating competitions, some with international significance.

Thanks to its strategic location, the ice rink is easily accessible from the Veneto plains, making it an ideal destination throughout autumn and winter. Every year, thousands of visitors choose to take a break from their daily routine, glide on the ice to the rhythm of music, and enjoy a warm drink between skating sessions.

In addition to the PalaFeltre, during December and January, visitors can enjoy ice skating in one of the most picturesque settings in the province: Piazza Duomo in Belluno. Skating here is a truly unique experience, surrounded by iconic landmarks such as the historic Palazzo dei Rettori, once the seat of power of the Venetian Republic, the Palazzo Rosso (City Hall), the Cathedral of San Martino, and its bell tower, a symbol of the city.
