Oratorio della Visitazione “la Madonnetta”

Charming and particular church, loved by all the local population, who affectionately calls it “la Madonnetta”.

Along the road leading to Pez there was in the sixteenth century a capital with a popular image considered miraculous of the “Madonna and Jesus Child”, so around 1665 the villagers started the construction of a small sanctuary dedicated to the Visitation of Mary and destined to serve as a new seat for the Marian icon.

From that moment the “Madonnetta” became a pilgrimage destination for the whole district. The design choices indicate the search for a strong spirituality, the octagonal shape recalls in fact the eighth day, that of the Resurrection of Christ, but also contains the concept of rebirth and spiritual evolution.
