It is said that in the distant Middle Ages a small church on the edge of the forest in Val di Canzoi, near the home of the landowning Brandalise family, disappeared due to a misdeed caused by bandits eager for ecclesiastical wealth, which ended with the mysterious transformation of the very place of worship into a pond.
