On Wednesday, April 2nd, there will be a performance by Umberto Galimberti – The Beauty, the Secret Law of Life, at the Teatro Comunale Dino Buzzati.

The theme of beauty is addressed by Umberto Galimberti, in his style, with a return to the sources of our culture. If the Jewish culture was a culture of the word, the Greek culture was instead a culture of vision, dominated by the sense of finitude and measure. Thus, beauty for the ancient Greek man is what respects measures, that is, it has calculable proportions.
Christianity will then bring onto the scene a God who becomes a visible body, thereby giving greater space to the image and thus to figurative art. But beauty is essentially a “symbol,” that is, a dimension in which the sensible – what is material, that has to do with the senses, the self – and the supersensible – an excess of meaning, an ulterior sense, a reference to something else – converge and compose.
