After months of work, the first open studio of the Sponde theater laboratory sees the light: a community theater project. During the meetings, we questioned what water is. The answers are manifold and diversified, but it is undeniable to conclude by emphasizing the importance of water as a common good, as it is an essential element for life, human activity, and the vitality of our territories.

Each of us has different experiences with water. Many of us are tied to deep flowing memories of water. Many of us hold sayings, legends, verses, and songs about water. 

In our personal memories and in our family myths, water is a dual element: it brings forth tranquility or a comforting calm expanse on one hand, but at the same time, it is a disruptive force, destructive or a terrifying element of fear. 

Sponde, therefore, is the tale of a flow because it builds a narrative between opposite banks to weave together conscious and unconscious, shared and personal concepts. It is a liquid flow through the twists and turns of the opposite, in search of a theatrical tale to share with the audience, a fortuitous member, as a spectator, of our small water community.
