“The return of Silk in Valbelluna” – The activity of silk farming

The activities in the field of mulberry silk farming are resuming in Valbelluna thanks to the social cooperative Cantiere della Provvidenza, which in 2013, through its business branch Cantiere del Baco, decided to start its first silk worm breeding. After 13 years, the activity has grown and is a prerequisite for outlets in various sectors, not only in crafts. 

The silk worm is an indicator of environmental quality and the enhancement of its products and by-products offers growth prospects. 

The documentary, in addition to the history of Silk and the silk worm, touches on all aspects related to the silk chain, from scientific to technical, while maintaining intact the charm that the theme inspires, a powerful connection that weaves everything together.
