That phone call from a grave… Can artificial intelligence resurrect the dead? And perhaps, thanks to a chip implanted in the brain, can a deceased person call from the grave?

These are the absurd and extravagant questions that, at the beginning of the novel, Egisto Galbaio, a descendant of one of the first Doges of the Serenissima Republic and an admirer of the great Edgar Allan Poe, the inventor of detective fiction, contemplates in Venice.

Aspiring investigator, Galbaio cannot imagine that a chain of terrible crimes awaits him in the art world, with artificial intelligence mysteriously at the service not of a beautiful painting but of the most ruthless crime.

In this fourth novel, Ferruccio Gard raises the pyrotechnic voltage of his three previous thrillers even higher, blending horror and irony in a fast-paced succession of twists and ancient testimonies of place names and people, brought up to date in an art world with characters willing to do anything to make huge profits.

From Venice to Bogotá, the sequence of atrocious crimes, among art dealers and masterpieces of famous artists, the work of investigators and the judiciary will become increasingly complicated and difficult, culminating in a stunning finale, including the revelation of the shocking identity of one of the killers and the double surprise mystery of the role of AI.

A finale that, perhaps, may never end. The two questions: will AI, artificial intelligence, be useful or could it have negative consequences? This is the great question that the world is asking.

Some of the protagonists of the thriller have already answered it for themselves. Will it be useful to spill blood for profit? Very well, no problem, red is one of the favorite colors of artists.
