Paesaggi immaginari

18 April @ 0:00

At the Filò Nevegal multi-functional cultural center, from April 18 to May 11, the exhibition “Imaginary Landscapes Between Woods and Deserts, Between Reality and Dream” by the artist Giovanni Bettòlo will take place. The inauguration is scheduled for Friday, April 18 at 6:00 PM. The event is promoted by Nevegallika and the Nevegal Property Owners Association, with the sponsorship of the Veneto Region and the Municipality of Belluno.

The exhibition offers an immersive journey through graphic-based paintings in which the artist represents a visionary and symbolic nature. The canvases evoke landscapes that combine fantastic and real elements: cathedrals carved into rock, Dolomite fortresses, woods animated by invisible but perceptible presences, such as elves, goblins, and other fairy-tale creatures. A visual narrative in which nature takes the spotlight, speaking through imagined architectures, intense colors, and mythological suggestions.

Giovanni Bettòlo, born in Fregona (TV) in 1944, spent his childhood in the woods of Cansiglio, an environment that has strongly influenced his artistic poetics. He graduated in Geological Sciences from the University of Padua and has taught geology and biological sciences while nurturing his passion for art in parallel. Since 1969, he has set up numerous solo exhibitions in Italy and has participated in group exhibitions in several countries, including France, Switzerland, Austria, the United States, and Japan. His studio in Belluno, on Via Feltre, represents a kind of permanent exhibition, defined by Bettòlo himself as an “enchanted place” where art and nature blend into a timeless narrative.

The exhibition fits into the broader goal of cultural and tourism promotion of Nevegàl, offering the public an opportunity to rediscover, through art, the value of landscape and imagination.
