The Power of Knowledge
The scientific approach, study, and knowledge become crucial in facing the great current challenges, such as those related to the environment, inequalities, misinformation, social isolation… Becoming a well-informed person prepares us to understand and manage the complexity of reality, to comprehend and respect others, to develop critical thinking. Prof. Schettini will guide us through a special immersive experience, demonstrating how knowledge can become a driving and motivating force, creating opportunities to learn, grow, and dream. Knowledge is a collective action that requires everyone’s contribution and demands information, awareness, and responsibility from all.
Vincenzo Schettini is a physicist, musician, writer, but above all an influential teacher. After graduating in violin and music education, he obtained a degree in physics. The two souls, artistic and scientific, merged in the idea of transforming physics from a mere notion into true entertainment, imitating the effect of music on stage. He directs the gospel group “Wanted Chorus” and teaches physics in high schools, promoting it online under the pseudonym “LA Fisica Che Ci Piace”. His first book, “The Physics We Like,” is among the top 10 best-selling non-fiction texts in 2022. In the recent “Ci vuole un fisico bestiale” (It Takes a Beastly Physicist), he paints a wonderful space-time journey exploring the lives and scientific discoveries of the 7 most “pop” physicists in history, showing how much humanity, imperfection, and vulnerability each of them has shared with the world. Starting in December 2023, he will present a wonderful physics lesson in Italian theaters, and from April 2024, he will host the program “The Physics of Love” on Raidue, which explores the complexity of human feelings through the certainties of science.
