Il cammino da S.Vittore alla Madonna del Grappa
It does not present significant difficulties.
For 16 years, it’s been a fixed appointment: the first weekend of August, the proposal of the Pilgrimage from San Vittore to Madonna del Grappa is an occasion for prayer and reflection, but also a moment to “remember” the tragedies left by the Great War, as well as to fully enjoy the landscape through a route that crosses the mountains.
The journey starts from Anzù, a fraction of Feltre, and more precisely from the ancient Sanctuary of SS. Vittore and Corona, dating from 1096 to 1101, passing through Villaga, Tomo, Porcen, Rasai, and Seren del Grappa.
Part of the well-known “Cammino delle Dolomiti” is traversed with the participation of the Bishop for a short stretch.
The route is long, 52 kilometers, but does not present particular difficulties: one departs very early on Saturday morning, gathering at the Sanctuary, heading towards the base camp at the Conca delle Bocchette in Seren del Grappa.
Participants, arriving from other Italian regions as well – usually stay overnight in shelters, while the more daring pass the night outside, among the hay.
On Sunday, an early departure from the base camp is scheduled to reach Cima Grappa where a ceremony at the Sacrario with the lighting of the tripod (torch) is planned.
Along the route, there will be refreshment stations (drinks, fruit, and anything useful for the journey).
