Steps of discovery with Anacleto Boranga, naturalistic and environmental educator.

Second appointment of the educational hike “CammiNATURAlmente”.

– Sunday, May 4 in the Castionese to discover an ancient convent among majestic centuries-old trees.

Starting from Modolo, where the majestic Villa Miari dominates, we will reach Prà Caval.
Here, one can admire a precious and mysterious (hospital/convent?) isolated building, the existence of which many are unaware, also due to the lack of written documentation, but which was located along a route frequented by pilgrims and travelers.

Nearby, one can admire an imposing white poplar and a suggestive row of centuries-old oaks, both included in the ministerial register of monumental trees.

Continuing along country lanes, we will approach a deep gorge by the Meassa stream, near which we will observe, in the garden of a dwelling, a towering sequoia reminiscent of the monumental one in Vajont.

Duration is about 3 hours. The route features a modest elevation gain. 
Meeting at 8:00 AM in Modolo near the entrance of Villa Miari.

Maximum 25 participants; registration fee €5 (+€5 for the snack) per person (minors excluded) to be paid to the guide on the day of the hike.
Appropriate footwear recommended, in case of bad weather the hike will be canceled and rescheduled to a date to be determined.
