IN THE CASTIONESE – discovering an ancient convent among majestic centuries-old trees

Starting from Modolo, where the majestic Villa Miari stands, we will reach Pra Caval. Here you can admire a precious and mysterious (hospital/convent?) isolated building, of which many are unaware of its existence, but which was likely located along a route frequented by pilgrims and travelers. Nearby, there is an imposing white poplar and a picturesque row of centuries-old oaks, both included in the ministerial register of monumental trees.

Continuing along country paths, we will approach a deep gorge on the Meassa stream near which we will see, in the garden of a residence, a towering sequoia.

Duration about 3 hours.
Route with a modest elevation gain.
