Accessibilità in Montagna Un nuovo sguardo per territori inclusivi

17 October @ 0:00

Conference

The Province of Belluno organizes the event “Accessibility in the Mountains – A New Perspective for Inclusive Territories,” scheduled for Friday October 17, 2025 at 6:30 PM at the David Sassoli Hall in Ponte nelle Alpi. The meeting focuses on the second chapter of the white paper “Beyond the Pelmo,” which was initiated as a collateral event to the Pelmo d’Oro Award (which will be hosted next year in Ponte nelle Alpi), and will feature experts and testimonials exploring the theme of inclusion in mountainous areas.

The chapter, titled “Accessibility in the Mountains: A New Perspective for Inclusive Territories,” gathers contributions that tackle the challenge of accessibility from various perspectives. Among the speakers, Paralympic champion René De Silvestro will share his experience of rebirth through sports, architect Mattia Menardi – Research Fellow at IUAV University of Venice and collaborator of Cortina Senza Confini – will provide an overview of vertical mobility models, and Davide Giozet from the ASSI Association will illustrate the prospects for inclusive tourism.

The second chapter of the white paper “Beyond the Pelmo” emphasizes that accessibility does not mean altering the mountains, but rather offering everyone the opportunity to experience them according to their own abilities. It discusses concrete projects already implemented in the Belluno area, such as the mapping of trails with the app “I’m Coming Too in the Belluno Dolomites” and the “Path of Sensitivity” in Alpago, demonstrating a tangible commitment to a more welcoming mountain.

The event will be moderated by journalist Damiano Tormen.
