Place for reading and meeting.
The “Carlo Pais” library was established in 1959 on the top floor of Palazzo Mazzolà – the town hall – and was spared from the tragedy of Vajont in 1963.
After several relocations, the headquarters was finally defined in the 1980s, in the building of the former elementary schools (built in the second half of the 19th century) which was recently restored; currently, the library houses about 20,000 books, has 45 reading seats, and collects much of the documentation related to the Vajont disaster.
The building also includes an 80-seat conference room named “Peoples of Europe,” the headquarters of the Cadore Longaronese Zoldo Mountain Community, and a Culture and Sports office.
