Anello di Valmorel

Challenging loop path in some places, but rarely difficult. Having some prior experience can be useful.

Loop trail of medium difficulty starting from Visome.

The itinerary develops on asphalt and road, with a short stretch on a naturalistic path. The route passes through numerous centers and characteristic locations, including Giaon, Valmorel, Navenze, Triches, Polentes, Ricomes, Dussoi and Limana, offering picturesque views of the surrounding landscape.

Along the route, there are several refreshment points and farms, such as the Villa Buzzatti Agricultural Company, the Schirata, the Valmorel Dairy, the Oasi Trattoria, and the Apidolomiti Agricultural Company, ideal for a gastronomic or relaxing stop.

The loop concludes with the return to Visome; alternatively, it is possible to park and start directly from the square in Valmorel, adjusting the itinerary to one’s needs.

Not far from the starting and finishing point of Visome, you will find Villa Buzzatti and the Church of San Pellegrino, dating back to 1535. Framed between Schiara and Serva, the villa consists of various sections decorated on the outside with frames that enclose large frescoes of mythological subjects. It is the only complete grand example of a residence from the mid-19th century, where architecture and painting appear intimately fused. In the villa of San Pellegrino, Dino Buzzati spent his youth and later his summer vacations. Among the houses he owned, it was the dearest because of its “roots,” so much so that he wished to rest forever in that little church. It is also possible to stop at the Villa Buzzatti Agricultural Company, which focuses on sustainable cultivation and food biodiversity.
