These wild holy settlement were reached with the confident hope to obtain a particular grace: every saint had its own specific “skill” and many pilgrims flocked from near and far countries, tackling journey difficulties, with the certainty of being heard.
The current aspect of these holy building , in most cases, is the result of succeeding restaurations, determined by pastoral dispositions and the evolution of the liturgy, but also by the love and care of the believers, who lavished part of their own poor resources to embellish the little sanctuaries. The visit of these suggestive and remote churches remains an unforgettable experience.overlapping the view of the unique and extraordinary work of the with the vision of creativity and human ingenuity.
A crossing composed by 13 stages, along the southern borders of the National Park. Over 68 miles of trail connecting the most significant places of worship in the foothills territory. Little churches that conserve memories, centuries old traditions, cultural meanings and often little artistic treasures that deserve to be known, reaching places of the ancient worship but also with recognized environmental value.
The stages have a length between 0,5 and 7,5 miles, with journey times between 30 minutes and 6 hours.
