Sanctuary of the Virgin of Parè in Limana

This sanctuary, that is under Giaon, in Limana is a little oasis of peace in the middle of the nature, ideal place for meditation, as Dino Buzzati was used to do.

Infact the woods and the paths around this little church inspired the writer in one of his most famous book “the Miracle of Val Morel”. Ecclesiastic sources certify the existence of this sanctuary from 1519 but it is sure that it was built during the previous century.
The internal tempera painted decorations that represent Holy scenes are very evocative.
Originally the faithfuls went to the Sanctuary only the second of July, in the occasion of the Madonna di Parè, but after the realization of the Way of the Cross, the devotion became important also in the Lenten Period, expecially during the Holy week.
