A simply circular route around the Lake Stua, in the southern side of one of the most famous valley in the National Park. Along the natural pathway, the outcrops of the main Dolomite rocks dominate and the actions of the water ways, quaternary glaciers and karst phenomena are visible and clear.

On these numerous faults many side valleys in continuing evolution were set. The vegetation is very varied: foothills woods by hornbeam and beech, most arid sides with pines, meadow areas, rocky outcrops and gullies landslide colonized by pioneer plants. There are many opportunities to see rare plants or particularly significant ones like the Silene of Veseleskyi, the Aspelenio of Dolomites, the Lunaria, the golden Lily, the smelling Campanella, the black Veratro. The woods offer hospitality to numerous species of birds, while the meadows are frequented especially in springtime by roe deer and moufflon.

Typical inhabitants of the River and Lake Caorame Stua are the wagtails, dippers and toads, hundreds of them reach the lake from the surrounding wooded slopes. Location: right and left banks of the river Caorame, from Preton locality up to the Pian del Goso, to the north of the Lake Stua. Access: take the provincial road between Feltre and Belluno until Soranzen, then follow the signs for Val Canzoi, along all the valley until the village Preton,where you can park. Teaching backups: along the itinerary you can find 10 information panels, that show the principal geologic, fauna and flora feature of the area.
