Fojaroi are structures built at high altitude used as permanent residences during the summer time. The shepherds used these kind of houses for the animals and as cheese factories during the summer whilst during the winter these houses were used like warehouse and barn.
The most characteristic part of the Fojarol is the roof, covered with beech twigs and leafs that were chopped in august during the waning moon, when the beech is in the height of the vegetative phase.
There are some Fojarols which are possible to visit in Valle di Seren, in the north side of Monte Grappa.
