Gian Maria Varanini was a full professor of Medieval History at the University of Verona.<\/p>\n
His research interests have focused on the political, social, and cultural history of medieval Italy, with particular reference to the central-northern area, to Veneto, to the cities of Veneto, and to the relationships between Venice and the mainland.<\/p>\n
