A multifunctional structure is a complex designed to host various activities with the aim of creating synergies between different functions. The structure consists of: Main area on the Ground Floor \u201cCOVERED PLATFORM\u201d of about 500 sqm ideal for organizing parties and events. Generally, the room is connected to the outside on two long sides where there are retractable awnings that can be lowered at any time. Wooden building \u201cKITCHEN\/BAR\u201d located on the north side and also on the ground floor, consisting of 4 rooms, namely: bar area with the folding window towards the \u201cCOVERED PLATFORM\u201d, main kitchen area, secondary kitchen area, and storage room. Basement where the restrooms, boiler room, a storage room for the structure, and a second storage room not available for the Section Alpini of Chies d’Alpago are located. Large outdoor playground adjacent to the southwest side, immersed in greenery at the foot of the Church of San Martino where the little ones can have fun. STORY OF THE MULTIFUNCTIONAL STRUCTURE OF SAN MARTINO D\u2019ALPAGO Let\u2019s begin by stating that this structure, as we see it today, was built step by step, and is the result of the work and determination of the San Martino district, which is now represented, for obvious bureaucratic reasons, by the APS Gruppo Giovani di San Martino d\u2019Alpago. Initially, the Sagra (the main event organized) and various other festivals and events took place in the squares and bars, then in the historic Concordia square where an old greenhouse was set up. In the early 90s, the San Martino district, with the idea of creating a central area more suitable for hosting parties and events, donated the necessary funds to the municipality to purchase the required area for this purpose and carried out (both financially and operationally) the necessary work to form the concrete multifunctional platform that we stand on today, thus relocating the November Sagra, the \u201cFesta del Forment\u201d in July, and many other activities created over time. After about ten years, bolstered by the platform’s success, construction began in 2000\/2001 on the fixed wooden kitchens, which it is right to emphasize were built entirely by volunteers, not just locals but also from outside the area, who have always helped and supported us and whom we will never cease to thank. In 2007, in collaboration with the municipality and the Alpini Section of Chies, thanks to a European contribution, it was possible to extend the platform southward, creating the warehouses, the heating plant, and the restrooms with showers in the basement. In the following years, tired of assembling tents and temporary structures, more jokingly than seriously, we dreamed of completing everything with a permanent structure to cover the entire uncovered area, and in 2014, perhaps a bit crazy\u2026 but then not so much\u2026. The Group proposed our idea to the municipal administration, which, of course, could only be realized with substantial support. Fortune had it that only a few weeks after presenting our project proposal to the administration, the Region issued a call that was just right for us, and in just over a week, we were able to draft the final project that allowed us to obtain significant assistance, which, when combined with the collaboration of the Gruppo Giovani di San Martino d\u2019Alpago, the municipality, several local businesses, and BTP Sas of Barattin Silvano & C., who enthusiastically backed the project, transferred to us the trust and security necessary to embark on this adventure that culminated in the structure we see today, inaugurated on November 3, 2018.
