The Pastin represents an important tradition of the food culture in the Province of Belluno.
It was born during the years in which the slaughter of the pigs was a celebration as well also necessary for the peasant communities living in small villages and basing their diet upon simple and poor food types.
The “pastin” is compsed by pork and beef meat, with the addition of lard, salt, pepper, spices, wine and different flavouring which can differ slightly, depending on the different production areas.

Serving suggestions:
the “pastin” can be eaten either raw or more traditionally cooked in a pan or grilled. It can be consumed in a sandwich or accomapanied by the traditional “polenta” .
