DESCRIPTION:The introductory day on the knowledge\, collection\, and use of wild herbs is back. \n  The course will be offered on three different dates: Saturday\, April 5th\, Saturday\, April 26th\, and Thursday\, May 1st. \n  We will be guided by Irene De Pellegrin\, who will accompany us through fields and woods\, identifying and collecting both well-known and lesser-known herbs that you will then be able to take home and use in your dishes. \nAt the end of the morning\, lunch is scheduled at the agriturismo\, where you will find the same wild herbs that you have recognized on your plate. It’s a very hands-on experience that will leave a lasting impression and\, with some deepening and attention\, will make you independent. \nA true zero-kilometer day. \nYou can choose to either do just the excursion and course for €25\, just the lunch for €35\, or both the excursion and lunch for €55 (drinks excluded). \nReservation required within 48 hours of the event! \nThe event will take place with a minimum number of participants and may be canceled or rescheduled later in case of unfavorable weather conditions. \n \nHerbal excursion and tasting course.

DESCRIPTION:Educational-themed excursion in two appointments: \n– Saturday\, April 26 “Are We Going to Paradise?” \nWhen\, in the late 1800s\, many desperate individuals left Casso in search of fortune in Brazil\, the two Barzan brothers chose to move to Arsiè to settle on a terrace at the foot of Mount Dolada. Upon arrival\, one of them looked around and exclaimed: “this is a Paradise!”.We will also depart from the characteristic village of Arsiè and\, after visiting it with Diego Rizzo\, the soul and engine of this place\, we will hike up to the Paradises\, where we can enjoy a stunning view and some rustic houses will tell us about times gone by.We will be welcomed by Guido Barzan\, the great-grandson of the legendary brothers\, along with his family\, who will recount unique stories.Up there\, we will enjoy a varied and hearty snack\, with fresh locally baked bread from an ancient wood-fired oven.From this sunny plateau\, we will enjoy an extensive panorama and feel ourselves in… Paradise!. \nDuration about 3 and a half hours. Route on dirt and paved roads of 4 km with a difference in elevation of 350 m.Meeting at 14:30 at the Paiane parking lot (Ponte nelle Alpi). \n– Sunday\, May 4 in the Castionese discovering an ancient convent among majestic centuries-old trees. \nStarting from Modolo\, where the majestic Villa Miari dominates\, we will reach Prà Caval.Here\, we can admire a valuable and mysterious (shelter/convent?) isolated building\, of which many are unaware\, also due to the lack of written documentation\, but which was located along a path frequented by pilgrims and travelers. \nNearby\, we will be able to admire an imposing white poplar and a suggestive row of ancient oaks\, both included in the ministerial register of monumental trees. \nContinuing along country lanes\, we will approach a deep ravine on the Meassa river\, near which we will observe\, in the garden of a residence\, a towering sequoia that resembles the monumental one in Vajont. \nDuration about 3 hours. DESCRIPTION:Entry 5 €\, free for members and children  \nOn Saturday\, April 5th at 9 PM\, the Moon will present itself in excellent conditions\, at the First Quarter and very high on the horizon\, allowing it to be observed\, if the seeing is good\, at very high resolution. Initially\, all telescopes will be pointed at it. In particular\, the “medium” telescope at the Center\, the 36 cm Newton\, will be connected to a planetary camera that will film our satellite live and display the image on a large screen\, available simultaneously to all visitors. \nWith the “large” telescope of the Center\, the 64 cm Dobson\, it will be possible to push visual high resolution to the maximum\, using 500 magnifications and\, if conditions allow\, even 800. We will particularly attempt to glimpse the thin groove\, only 600 m in diameter\, that runs along the bottom of the Alpine Valley\, which will present itself in ideal lighting conditions for the endeavor. Furthermore\, the craters Aristoteles and Eudoxus\, Aristillus and Autolycus\, the Caucasus mountain range\, the beginning of the Apennines\, the Rimae Hyginus\, the craters Rheticus\, Hipparchus and Albategnius\, Werner and Aliacensis\, Walter and Stoeffler\, Licetus and Heraclitus will be well visible from north to south. It will also be possible to take a look at Jupiter\, although lower on the horizon than in the winter months\, and some contrastively colored double stars\, such as Winter Albireo\, Iota Cancri\, and Algieba. In case of bad weather\, the best footage collected by members of lunar landscapes will be projected at the planetarium. \nOn Saturday\, April 12th at 9 PM\, Gabriele Vanin will hold a children’s evening titled “The Game of Constellations\,” during which the little ones will be interactively involved in building “living” models to understand\, in a fun way\, the positions and movements of the Sun\, Earth\, Moon\, planets\, and stars. If the weather is also nice\, from an observational point of view it will be an evening characterized by the presence of the bright full Moon\, which will also provide an additional opportunity for interactive experience with the children and their companions\, which we will not reveal and will therefore be a surprise. It will also be possible to observe colorful stars through the telescope\, such as Regulus\, as well as colorfully double and multiple stars. A bright pass of the Chinese Space Station Tiangong will also be observed. \nFinally\, on Saturday\, April 26th at 9 PM\, the first of the evenings that will take place throughout the rest of the year on the last Saturday of the month\, free admission\, will occur\, dedicated to those\, members and non-members\, who want to learn how to use the instruments of the Center\, or also bring and have explained how to use their own. SUMMARY:Festa de San Dordi '25
DESCRIPTION:The patron saint is Saint George\, a soldier from Cappadocia who was martyred under Diocletian in 303. He is celebrated on April 23.The Vow\, which gave rise to the festival and has historical significance for the town\, dates back to the Plague of 1631. In that year\, the epidemic described by Manzoni had reached Sorriva\, claiming many victims\, so much so that the town was quarantined and surrounded by guards. The dead\, exhumed\, were buried in designated graves (in the Pian dei mort area)\, as recalled by the parish priest Don Francesco Todeschi. The doctor Zaccaria del Pozzo took action to have everything that could spread the contagion burned. \nThus\, the population\, through the two family heads Tomio and Baldassarre De Cia\, turned to Saint George\, promising to sanctify the commanded holidays\, fast on the vigils\, and lead a truly Christian life forever. However\, such promises proved to be too burdensome from the outset\, and it was decided to commutate the vow by perpetually sanctifying the feast of Saint George (on April 23) and offering the church a painted leather altar frontal. Additionally\, a procession and the distribution of bean soup to the town’s poor were added. \nEven today\, this particular tradition is respected: the Mass of the Vow is celebrated on April 23\, while the beans are collected from house to house\, then prepared and cooked\, to make the soup that is distributed the Sunday following the feast of the saint. On that day\, a procession takes place with the cappati (figures dressed as members of the dissolved Archconfraternity of the Most Holy Sacrament) who carry crosses\, torches\, and the banner. \nA Mass of suffrage is then celebrated with the blessing of the soup\, prepared each year by three different families\, which is then distributed by the conscripts (twenty-year-olds of the year) to all those present in the town. Alongside all this\, an animated festival takes place\, characterized by a distinctly gastronomic and folkloric flavor. \n \nFood and wine stand and the unmissable San Dordi procession with the blessing of the “San Dordi soup”
