The readings will be conducted by our talented readers: Annamaria Canepa\, Sabina D’Isep\, Valentina Pellegrinon\, Paola Brolati\, and Chiara Buttignon. \nThe appointment for those interested is at the library’s venue\, at 5 PM lasting for 30 minutes. \nParticipants will be able to listen to readings of books\, stories\, tales\, and nursery rhymes from various authors and genres\, and there will also be themed meetings. \nAt the Children’s Room in Palazzo Crepadona (on the 2nd floor) in Belluno. SUMMARY:Festa de San Dordi '25
DESCRIPTION:The patron saint is Saint George\, a soldier from Cappadocia who was martyred under Diocletian in 303. He is celebrated on April 23.The Vow\, which gave rise to the festival and has historical significance for the town\, dates back to the Plague of 1631. In that year\, the epidemic described by Manzoni had reached Sorriva\, claiming many victims\, so much so that the town was quarantined and surrounded by guards. The dead\, exhumed\, were buried in designated graves (in the Pian dei mort area)\, as recalled by the parish priest Don Francesco Todeschi. The doctor Zaccaria del Pozzo took action to have everything that could spread the contagion burned. \nThus\, the population\, through the two family heads Tomio and Baldassarre De Cia\, turned to Saint George\, promising to sanctify the commanded holidays\, fast on the vigils\, and lead a truly Christian life forever. However\, such promises proved to be too burdensome from the outset\, and it was decided to commutate the vow by perpetually sanctifying the feast of Saint George (on April 23) and offering the church a painted leather altar frontal. Additionally\, a procession and the distribution of bean soup to the town’s poor were added. \nEven today\, this particular tradition is respected: the Mass of the Vow is celebrated on April 23\, while the beans are collected from house to house\, then prepared and cooked\, to make the soup that is distributed the Sunday following the feast of the saint. On that day\, a procession takes place with the cappati (figures dressed as members of the dissolved Archconfraternity of the Most Holy Sacrament) who carry crosses\, torches\, and the banner. \nA Mass of suffrage is then celebrated with the blessing of the soup\, prepared each year by three different families\, which is then distributed by the conscripts (twenty-year-olds of the year) to all those present in the town. Alongside all this\, an animated festival takes place\, characterized by a distinctly gastronomic and folkloric flavor. \n \nFood and wine stand and the unmissable San Dordi procession with the blessing of the “San Dordi soup”

DESCRIPTION:Reciprocity Festival to refocus on non-economic values \nFestival that arises with the following objectives to aim for:– to try to immortalize the memory of Nonnetta Antonietta Saccaro in Faoro\, as a well-deserved thank you– to keep alive the Cultures and the Noble Values of the Pre-Monetary Indigenous Peoples– to provide a better Society for the son Yuian Angel Turra Osorio and his friends\, through the use of reciprocal distribution systems\, and not just monetary and economic ones– to make papá Angelo Turra happy and proud\, as a thank you for all he has done and given– to exchange favors with the great Community of Friends and even with strangers. \n \nThe festival aims to be a physical and also online SHOWCASE\, for:1.1-LEARN and KNOW\, not only theoretically\, but practically new things and also new people. \n1.2- PROMOTE:– all my Friends and acquaintances who have something to offer the Community and who work for Culture– alternative and complementary forms to money\, to circulate the real wealth we have and that we are capable of creating– the existence and functionality of OTHER FORMS of capital\, besides monetary\, through practice\, as the organization and realization of the Festival aims to demonstrate– the beauty and genuineness of my beloved native land: Feltrino-Bellunese in the Dolomites– the various projects we are realizing and that exist in Mexico \n1.3- GIVE DIGNITY TO:– the Agricultural and Mountain Culture\, Italian and Mexican– forms of empirical learning\, not only theoretical and official from school and university– community work– work done “from the heart\,” out of passion– voluntary work for the benefit of Culture and Community– exchange\, gifting\, lending\, mutual help … \nLearning\, promoting\, and working in an environment of celebration\, coexistence\, friendship\, healthy fun\, art …Noticing that to feel better\, we must organize ourselves communally (with or without institutions) to produce more and more of what we need\, to become less dependent on external factors that are beyond our control.Production\, organization\, and communication\, are therefore the 3 key points to strengthen\, which should especially engage new generations\, before they are totally absorbed and dependent on the system\, with no way out.The goal is ambitious\, but what alternatives do we have?Trying to save ourselves alone is quite complicated and I would say almost useless; either we save ourselves as a group or no one gets saved. That’s why together collaborating instead of competing\, is much more fun and far simpler than what they have managed to make us believe.Why not give it a try…Well\, now what I ask of you is simply to try to participate in the Festival and to promote it among your Friends and acquaintances.And maybe collaborate by presenting your activities\, services\, and products for the benefit of the Community.The collaboration and “presence” of the dear “muertitos” who are still alive\, will certainly not be lacking … \n2- THANKS\n\nTo Agricultural Culture of the Dolomites of Feltrino-Bellunese of Nonnetta Antonietta and the Turra-Faoro family\, typical of most Bellunesi of the past.\n\n\nTo Mexico\, and especially to the Mexicans\, the true Masters of Life\, from whom in Friendship or by participating in conferences\, courses\, exhibitions … it is possible to learn a lot.
