SUMMARY:Torneo di Tò Vegna
DESCRIPTION:For the September tournament\, we start on Saturday the 11th at 3:00 PM in the square in Farra di Mel and will continue throughout Sunday. \nThe tournament takes place outdoors\, but it is advisable to have a Green Pass anyway. The public is recommended to follow the distancing rules and wear a mask. \n Return to the annual appointment with the tournament of one of the oldest games in Valbelluna. \nTò Vegna (ball game) is an ancient street game still played in Farra di Mel. In past centuries\, the “ball game” was used throughout Europe wherever there was a narrow alley or strait. Tò Vegna is a variant of the ball game\, its documented origins date back to the 1600s. The traces are the records of disputes that ended up before judges as they were a source of disturbance to public order. Challenges were a daily occurrence\, both among locals and between neighboring towns\, and often the rivalry led to various brawls (namely: “a mix of knee strikes\, punches\, stones\, and sticks”). After all\, to play\, you just needed a field (a strait formed by house walls)\, a rubber ball\, some contenders\, a glass of wine as a stake\, and just enough local pride. However\, there were no limits to fighting because each town had its own rules of the game. The memory of this game has been lost due to the evolution of customs\, compounded by the difficulty of finding a suitable game ball and the increase in city traffic. All these factors gradually erased the ball game. However\, it should be noted that in Farra di Mel\, Tò Vegna has always been played\, and the tradition has never been lost; indeed\, it was a source of strength when in the 1980s\, the playing field\, previously formed by two rows of houses (a strait)\, was compromised due to the demolition of the old tavern whose walls were dangerous. After overcoming the sadness and discouragement\, the most passionate players adapted the rules to continue playing even with only one side wall. \nTò Vegna is played in occasional gatherings or in tournaments organized by the CRAL Farrese throughout the year\, such as on May 1st\, the second Sunday of July\, and a Sunday in September/October\, with the most significant being undoubtedly the one in July\, which awards the Palio delle Contrade. \nThe name Tò Vegna comes from the ritual call-and-response that precedes the ball being hit: the one who hits warns: “Tò” (take)\, and the one who receives if ready responds: “Vegna” (come). Those who practice Tò Vegna say that it is easier to start playing than to explain the rules. This has discouraged many in the past from putting them down in writing\, especially since they have been passed down verbally from generation to generation.  \nIt is present at the Veronese event Tocatì and has been officially recognized since 2023 as an intangible UNESCO heritage. \nRegistrations are open at Bar Tucano until midnight on April 30th.

DESCRIPTION:The introductory day on the knowledge\, collection\, and use of wild herbs is back. \n  The course will be offered on three different dates: Saturday\, April 5th\, Saturday\, April 26th\, and Thursday\, May 1st. \n  We will be guided by Irene De Pellegrin\, who will accompany us through fields and woods\, identifying and collecting both well-known and lesser-known herbs that you will then be able to take home and use in your dishes. \nAt the end of the morning\, lunch is scheduled at the agriturismo\, where you will find the same wild herbs that you have recognized on your plate. It’s a very hands-on experience that will leave a lasting impression and\, with some deepening and attention\, will make you independent. \nA true zero-kilometer day. \nYou can choose to either do just the excursion and course for €25\, just the lunch for €35\, or both the excursion and lunch for €55 (drinks excluded). \nReservation required within 48 hours of the event! \nThe event will take place with a minimum number of participants and may be canceled or rescheduled later in case of unfavorable weather conditions. \n \nHerbal excursion and tasting course.

DESCRIPTION:Spring-summer program 2025 in the Val di Seren del Grappa. \nThroughout the spring and until the end of summer\, the program offers a mix of unique events that involve people of all ages\, with activities ranging from nature to gastronomy and local traditions. \nFor the little ones\, there are activities dedicated to discovering biodiversity. You can visit the exhibits in the barn where art meets spring. The walks to discover the Seren valley offer the opportunity to explore unspoiled landscapes\, while the visit to Tane Muse farm allows for a connection with agricultural life. For those who love gastronomy and traditional cooking\, there is a peasant cooking workshop\, a project titled “The tomato and its siblings\,” and an activity on herbal preparations. Additionally\, you can enjoy an aperitif in good company through “aperistalla.” Other activities for nature lovers include: San Giovanni under the walnut tree\, forest bathing in the Montesort chestnut grove\, and haymaking. The “open farms” allow for the discovery of the work of local realities. For those who wish to experiment with manual skills\, a soap-making course is also offered. \nIn the coming weeks\, individual posters for each event will follow.

DESCRIPTION: Children’s readings \nThe Civic Library of Belluno\, starting from March 7th and until March 28th (every Friday of the month)\, is reintroducing the project “Watch Out for the Book!”\, with read-aloud sessions for children aged 3 to 7 years. The readings will be conducted by our talented readers: Annamaria Canepa\, Sabina D’Isep\, Valentina Pellegrinon\, Paola Brolati\, and Chiara Buttignon. \nThe appointment for those interested is at the library’s venue\, at 5 PM lasting for 30 minutes. \nParticipants will be able to listen to readings of books\, stories\, tales\, and nursery rhymes from various authors and genres\, and there will also be themed meetings. \nAt the Children’s Room in Palazzo Crepadona (on the 2nd floor) in Belluno. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Entry is free and no reservation is required. Punctuality is important!

If you know\, you can choose. \nOn May 2\, 2025\, at 6:30 PM\, a conference dedicated to Law 219/2017\, which regulates informed consent and Advance Treatment Directives (DAT)\, also known as Living Will\, will take place at the Town Hall of Fonzaso (BL). \nThe meeting\, promoted by the Municipal Administration with the support of the Order of Surgeons and Dentists of Belluno and the Mano Amica Association\, aims to promote knowledge and discussion on a topic of great ethical and healthcare significance\, related to the patient’s freedom to decide on their own care\, even in situations where they are no longer able to express themselves. \nSpeakers will include: \nDr. Stefano Capelli\, President of the Order of Doctors of Belluno \nDr. Giampietro Luisetto\, general practitioner and Vice President of Mano Amica \nDr. Osvaldo Zanin\, head of communication for Mano Amica \nThe conference is open to the public and aims to raise awareness about the right to self-determination in healthcare\, exploring regulatory\, medical\, and ethical aspects related to Law 219 and palliative care.
