DESCRIPTION:The historical reenactment of the delivery of Feltre to Venice \nIn order to remember and celebrate the donation of Feltre to Venice\, a public decree established that in the following years\, on 15 August\, a procession of all the orders of the city would take place and a Palio of 15 gold ducats would be run.  \n  The Palio that has been held in Feltre since 1979 every first Sunday in August is meant to commemorate this very event. The palio is transformed into a leap back in time that recreates the 15th-century atmosphere thanks to the marvellous choreography studied down to the smallest detail\, the result of scrupulous philological reconstruction.  \n  The pomp and circumstance of the costumes of the procession of nobles and ladies that\, on Sunday morning\, leads from the 16th-century imperial gate along Largo Castaldi to the cathedral forecourt to attend the Holy Mass and in the afternoon along Via Mezzaterra and Piazza Maggiore to the final competitions until the proclamation of the winning quarter.  \n  The city’s four quarters compete in the Prà del Moro arena in the tug-of-war and horse race\, earning valuable points that\, added to those obtained in the relay race and archery\, will determine the new holder of the fifteen-ducat banner.  \n  The celebrations begin on Friday with the dinners of the quarters that bring together hundreds of contradaioli who have come to support their quarter.

DESCRIPTION:It does not present significant difficulties.  \nAn ancient tradition \nFor 17 years\, it has been a fixed appointment: the first weekend of August\, the proposal of the Camino from San Vittore to Madonna del Grappa is an occasion for prayer and reflection\, but also a moment to “remember” the dramas left by the Great War\, as well as to fully enjoy the landscape through a path that crosses the mountain. \n  The route starts from Anzù\, a hamlet of Feltre\, more precisely from the ancient Sanctuary of SS. Vittore and Corona dating from 1096 to 1101\, passing through Villaga\, Tomo\, Porcen\, Rasai\, Seren del Grappa. \n A part of the famous “Way of the Dolomites” is covered and the participation and blessing of the Bishop is expected. \n The route is long\, 52 kilometers\, but presents no particular difficulties: it starts very early on Saturday morning with a gathering at the Sanctuary\, heading towards the base camp at Conca delle Bocchette in Seren del Grappa. \nParticipants\, arriving even from other Italian regions – usually stop to sleep in the refuges\, while the braver ones spend the night outside\, among the hay. \n On Sunday\, they depart early from the base camp to reach Cima Grappa where a ceremony at the Sacrario with the lighting of the tripod (torch) is scheduled. \nAlong the route\, refreshment stations (drinks\, fruit\, and whatever is useful for the journey) will be present.

DESCRIPTION:Open from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. \nFree admission. \nReservation is not required. \nThe pre-Roman necropolis of Mel in Borgo Valbelluna will extraordinarily open to the public for the Mele a Mel festival\, on Saturday\, October 10 and Sunday\, October 11\, 2026\, it will be possible to access and visit the state archaeological area that preserves the monumental burial site of the Ancient Veneti.  \nA “city of the dead” among the oldest in Valbelluna and one of the few currently visitable in the entire Veneto region\, rediscovered thanks to excavations that began in 1958\, stands at the entrance of the village of Mel and allows us to learn about how the Paleoveneti lived and what their economic and social structure was. \nThe approximately 80 tombs found are inserted within 7 circles formed by slabs of sandstone driven into the ground in a vertical position. The ashes of the deceased were placed in ceramic or bronze urns along with some everyday objects inside polygonal boxes. Thus\, a sort of family tomb was formed. The urns and all the objects that accompanied the burials – ornaments and tools – are displayed in the rooms of the Civic Archaeological Museum located in the Palazzo delle Contesse in the square of Mel. \nThe Ancient Veneti or Paleoveneti were an Indo-European population that arrived in northeastern Italy after the middle of the 2nd millennium B.C. Through numerous archaeological excavations and related finds\, the history and identity of this population have been reconstructed over the years. The Veneti initially settled in the area between Lake Garda and the Euganean Hills and later expanded to Adria (RO) to the south and to the Tagliamento River to the east. \nFree entry.  \n \nExtraordinary opening to the public.

It is not necessary for the participant to have completed the entire route of the Alta Via 1.  \nCelebratory conference for 60 years \nThe Alta Via n. 1 of the Dolomites celebrates 60 years: an evening dedicated to the historic itinerary in Belluno \nThe Alta Via n. 1 of the Dolomites\, the famous hiking route that connects Lake Braies to Belluno\, turns sixty years old. To celebrate the anniversary\, the Belluno section of the Italian Alpine Club is organizing an evening dedicated to the history\, hiking value\, and tourist importance of one of the most well-known routes in the Dolomites. \nThe event is scheduled for Saturday\, August 1\, at 8:30 p.m.\, at the Crepadona Cultural Center in Belluno. \nDuring the meeting\, the origins of the Alta Via n. 1 will be retraced\, which was created in 1966 thanks to the initiative of Piero Rossi\, Mario Brovelli\, and Antonio Sanmarchi. The contribution of climber and journalist Toni Hibeler\, who facilitated its spread abroad\, will also be remembered. \nThe evening will also be an opportunity to highlight the role of the itinerary in promoting the territory and to present the new illustrated booklet of the Alta Via n. 1\, created in Italian\, English\, and German. DESCRIPTION: Openings of the Addolorata. \nThe Church of the Our Lady of Sorrows in Mel is worth a visit because it is a treasure trove of art\, history\, and legend hidden in the heart of Valbelluna. Visiting this place means discovering rare masterpieces\, such as the precious 15th-century tabernacle depicting the Albanian hero Skanderbeg\, and admiring splendid paintings of the local Renaissance. It is a building that tells a story of incredible resilience\, having survived devastating fires and the requisitions of the Great War thanks to the devotion of its inhabitants. Finally\, it houses the relics of Saint Faustus\, before which the ancient local families swore a historic peace that ended generations of bloody conflicts. \nThe dates on which it will be open are every first Saturday of the month from June to October (June 6\, July 4\, August 1\, September 5\, and October 3) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:Guaranteed fun! \nOne of the most anticipated festivals of the summer in Borgo Valbelluna: Qualche dì a Fara de Mel returns with an intense program for eight days of music\, sports\, celebration\, and culture! \nIt kicks off big on Saturday\, August 1 with the spiedo\, the start of the Green Volley tournament and music with Sound Color (acoustic) and Mens Rea (Rock). \nOn Sunday\, August 2 at lunch\, the beef tagliata is unmissable\, on the sports field more Green Volley and a rugby demonstration. On stage a bit of dance music with Note dai Cortili and following DJ set (Siry\, Drumblood & Lorenz). \nAfter the midweek break\, it restarts on Friday\, August 7 with the folk sounds of Rudemà and Susanna Live and a fish menu you can also enjoy on Saturday accompanied by the JB Band \, DJ Elia and the opening of the legendary kiosks.
