DESCRIPTION: Openings of the Addolorata. \nThe Church of the Our Lady of Sorrows in Mel is worth a visit because it is a treasure trove of art\, history\, and legend hidden in the heart of Valbelluna. Visiting this place means discovering rare masterpieces\, such as the precious 15th-century tabernacle depicting the Albanian hero Skanderbeg\, and admiring splendid paintings of the local Renaissance. It is a building that tells a story of incredible resilience\, having survived devastating fires and the requisitions of the Great War thanks to the devotion of its inhabitants. Finally\, it houses the relics of Saint Faustus\, before which the ancient local families swore a historic peace that ended generations of bloody conflicts. \nThe dates on which it will be open are every first Saturday of the month from June to October (June 6\, July 4\, August 1\, September 5\, and October 3) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:Open from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. \nFree admission. \nReservation is not required. \n Extraordinary opening to the public. \nThe pre-Roman necropolis of Mel in Borgo Valbelluna opens exceptionally to the public every Sunday in July and August from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and in conjunction with the openings of the church of the Addolorata in the center of Mel (Saturday\, July 4 and Saturday\, August 1) it will be possible to access and visit the state archaeological area that preserves the monumental burial ground of the Ancient Venetians.  \nA “city of the dead” among the oldest in Valbelluna and one of the few currently visitable in the entire Veneto region\, rediscovered thanks to excavations that began in 1958\, stands at the entrance to the village of Mel and allows us to understand how the Paleoveneti lived and what their economic and social structure was. \nThe approximately 80 tombs found are inserted within 7 circles made of sandstone slabs set vertically in the ground. The ashes of the deceased were placed in ceramic or bronze vessels along with some everyday objects inside polygonal boxes. Thus\, a sort of family tomb was formed. The cremation vessels and all the objects that accompanied the burials – ornaments and tools – are displayed in the rooms of the Civic Archaeological Museum located in the Palazzo delle Contesse in the square of Mel. \nThe Ancient Venetians or Paleoveneti were an Indo-European population that arrived in northeastern Italy after the middle of the 2nd millennium B.C. Thanks to numerous archaeological excavations and related findings\, the history and identity of this population have been reconstructed over the years. The Venetians initially settled in the area between Lake Garda and the Euganean Hills and later expanded to Adria (RO) to the south\, and to the Tagliamento River to the east. \nFree entry.

SUMMARY:Palio of Feltre
DESCRIPTION:The historical reenactment of the delivery of Feltre to Venice \nIn order to remember and celebrate the donation of Feltre to Venice\, a public decree established that in the following years\, on 15 August\, a procession of all the orders of the city would take place and a Palio of 15 gold ducats would be run.  \n  The Palio that has been held in Feltre since 1979 every first Sunday in August is meant to commemorate this very event. The palio is transformed into a leap back in time that recreates the 15th-century atmosphere thanks to the marvellous choreography studied down to the smallest detail\, the result of scrupulous philological reconstruction.  \n  The pomp and circumstance of the costumes of the procession of nobles and ladies that\, on Sunday morning\, leads from the 16th-century imperial gate along Largo Castaldi to the cathedral forecourt to attend the Holy Mass and in the afternoon along Via Mezzaterra and Piazza Maggiore to the final competitions until the proclamation of the winning quarter.  \n  The city’s four quarters compete in the Prà del Moro arena in the tug-of-war and horse race\, earning valuable points that\, added to those obtained in the relay race and archery\, will determine the new holder of the fifteen-ducat banner.  \n  The celebrations begin on Friday with the dinners of the quarters that bring together hundreds of contradaioli who have come to support their quarter.

DESCRIPTION:It is advisable to bring a blanket\, a medium-weight jacket\, mosquito repellent\, sunscreen\, and a sun hat to use during pre-event moments and the concert. \nAttention: tents or gazebos for shade are not allowed\, but small umbrellas that can be closed at the beginning of the performance are permitted. \nOn Sunday\, August 2 at 5:00 p.m.\, the Cajada location in Longarone hosts the third stage of Dolomiti Arena – Slow Mountain Music Festival featuring the concert of TIROMANCINO. \nThis event takes place in a location of great symbolic value\, where the mountains meet memory in a context that naturally invites reflection and the slow discovery of the territory. The day can be an opportunity to explore the surroundings through itineraries that tell the story of the places\, museums\, and exhibition spaces that preserve the history of the valley\, as well as paths connecting villages and communities\, where local identity is expressed through traditions and hospitality\, and where the Dolomites Bellunesi can be seen up close. \nTHE EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO ALL. The road to get there is a mountain road\, narrow and winding\, and will be one-way uphill to allow access for cars with a pass. It is recommended to choose this parking if you are experienced with this type of roadway and to arrive no later than 3:30 p.m. BOOK PARKING IN CAJADA AT THIS GOOGLE FORM.ATTENTION: Booking parking in Cajada and registering for the event are not the same thing: registration helps us know how many will attend the concert but it is NOT valid for using the parking in Cajada. Meeting point at Piazzale Nevegal. \nOn July 26 at 3:00 p.m. it will be the turn of BICINKANA\, organized in collaboration with FIAB Belluno\, a playful-educational activity aimed at children aged 5 to 10 to promote sustainable mobility and outdoor play. Meeting point at the Playground of the Albergo Nevegal. \nOn August 1 at 8:30 p.m. the concert “I Due Golfi” will be held at the Caldart Hall\, a musical journey between Venice and Naples through voices\, guitar\, and mandolin. \nOn August 5 at 9:30 a.m.\, in Pian Longhi\, a Walking Gymnastics session will be held led by instructor Elena Auditore\, combining physical activity and contact with nature.
