SUMMARY:I Castelli di Belluno e dintorni
DESCRIPTION:Guided tour \nThe Civic Library of Belluno\, in collaboration with the tour guide Marta Azzalini and the environmental guide Manolo Piat\, presents the third edition of guided tours dedicated to the history of castles and towers that once stood in the Belluno area and the landscape of these places.Built in different eras\, they were the defensive strongholds of the territory that\, in 1421\, were almost all swept away by the Venetian order to demolish the castles in the area subjected to the dominion of the Serenissima. Sparse traces remain\, along with some towers that have been transformed over the centuries or recently restored. \nThe second appointment moved to April 5 at 9:30 AM will feature a route that winds through the Castionese area\, starting from Cet with the interesting church of Santa Lucia\, to reach Castoi where an ancient tower still stands today\, transformed into the bell tower of the church of San Martino. We will be in the Oltrepiave area\, which clearly shows how the imprint of human activity has adapted and overlapped\, without however obliterating it\, the ancient action of the glacier that occupied and shaped the Valbelluna millennia ago. The backdrop formed by the Belluno Dolomites also offers numerous insights into understanding the evolution of the environment and landscape.Meeting point: Enosteria Cet\, Via ReiùRoute: 3 kmDuration: approximately 2.5 hours \nThe third visit\, on Saturday\, March 22\, will take place in Soverzene to discover the ancient watchtower overlooking the Piave valley. \nReservation required by contacting the Civic Library of Belluno (tel. 0437 – 913303\, email biblioteca@comune.belluno.it) or by visiting Palazzo Crepadona in Via Ripa 3. \nCost of €10 per person to be paid on the day of the visit to the guides\, for a maximum of 40 participants.

SUMMARY:Attualità di una metamorfosi - rassegna “Libri in Zattera”
DESCRIPTION:“The relevance of a metamorphosis” is a temporary exhibition of object books\, created by the Belluno artists Flavio Da Rold\, Alfonso Lentini\, and Giorgio Vazza\, where books lose their function as vehicles of knowledge and become works of art that can be admired on the noble floor of Palazzo Doglioni. The exhibition is part of the series “Books on Rafts” \n“The Relevance of a Metamorphosis” presents books as objects created by Flavio Da Rold\, Alfonso Lentini\, and Giorgio Vazza\, artists residing in Belluno and active at the national and international level in this important sector of contemporary art. \nThe book as an object is a form of art whose origins date back to Futurism and the avant-garde movements of the twentieth century\, but it remains a lively and vibrant reality today. \nIntertwined with other modes of verbo-visual experimentation such as visual poetry or asemic writing\, this particular line of research clearly differs from the traditional “artist’s book” as it removes the book from its specific function\, renders it “illegible\,” and converts it into an autonomous work of art. \nBy subjecting the book to metamorphoses\, hybridizations\, and distortions\, artists from all over the world have created original and startling works to be enjoyed with an open gaze free from schematics. \nBooks as objects have been produced by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti\, Fortunato Depero\, Bruno Munari\, Enrico Baj\, Emilio Isgrò\, Irma Blank\, Giosetta Fioroni\, Maria Lai\, Mirella Bentivoglio\, Yoko Ono\, Guy Debord\, Joseph Kosuth\, Sol LeWitt\, and many others. \nToday\, with the advent of digital technology\, communication is dematerializing\, and the printed book is no longer\, as it has been for centuries\, the primary means of transmitting knowledge. \nAn artistic operation that places the material component of the book at its center is therefore very current because\, by performing a metamorphosis that transforms the book into a work of art\, it focuses attention on its physical structure and initiates a reflection on the other ongoing transformations in the world of communication. \nFlavio Da Rold was born in 1945 in Belluno\, where he lives and works. In the early 1970s\, he attended the studio of artist Antonio Bassetto\, where he trained as a painter. After various abstract and informal experiences in painting\, his artistic research shifted toward the field of installation. \nUsing natural materials such as wood\, iron\, and concrete\, along with a constant presence of color\, he creates three-dimensional works that always interact with space\, time\, and memory\, aiming to establish a correct and balanced relationship between art and territory. \nThroughout his research\, he has also created numerous books as objects. In the late 1980s\, he was one of the founders of the “ZED group” and subsequently of the “ALTA QUOTA” group\, with which he participated in important events including the Venice Biennale. \nHe was one of the founders of the contemporary art exhibition “Portici Inattuali\,” which took place in Sitran d’Alpago from 1989 to 2001. \nAlfonso Lentini (Favara\, 1951) was formed in the atmosphere of the Sicilian neo-avant-gardes of the late twentieth century. \nSince the late 1970s\, he has lived in Belluno. His activity spans from the visual arts to writing. \nIn his numerous exhibitions and installations held in Italy and abroad\, he presents books as objects\, verbo-visual and asemic writings\, artists’ books\, and generally works based on the valorization of words in their material and gestural dimensions. His first solo exhibition dates back to 1976. \nAs part of a collective project on poetry curated by Marco Nereo Rotelli\, he participated in the 49th Venice Biennale in 2001. In 2013\, together with Aurelio Fort\, he created the international artistic project “Resist to Re/exist\,” culminating in a large urban installation in the streets and squares of Belluno. \nHis most recent book is “We are the Wolf-Fish” (pièdimosca editions 2023). \nGiorgio Vazza (Longarone\, 1952) lives in Sitran d’Alpago BL. His research develops through drawing\, painting\, installations\, land art\, and books as objects. He was among the artistic directors of the contemporary art exhibition “Portici Inattuali” (Sitran 1989-2001). \nHe is present in significant artistic events in Italy and abroad\, including the “46th International Art Biennale of Venice” (1995)\, “Topolò Station” (Topolò\, UD 1994 and 1997)\, “Humus Park” (PN 2014 and 2016 with F. Da Rold). \nIn 2001\, he conceived and created the installation DNA Shell Cathedral with artists Da Rold and Ricci\, inaugurated at the Belluno Hospital by Nobel Prize winner Rita Levi Montalcini. \nIn 2023\, he realized the official image for the 27th edition of the festival “Beyond the Peaks\,” where he presents his solo exhibition Reflected Places. Notably\, in the field of drawing and painting is the project Wandering Pasture\, a series of paintings and drawings on the theme of transhumance. \nThe exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday\, March 29 at 5:00 PM\, with a critical intervention by Serena Dal Borgo\, and is part of the series “Books on Rafts.” \nFor more information\, contact segreteria@borgopiaveetc.it.

SUMMARY:Noi siamo i lupopesci
DESCRIPTION:“Inexplicable” and with a mysterious title\, this book by Alfonso Lentini opens with a nighttime landscape of Lake Santa Croce\, “between the Dolomites and Venice”\, and ends with a journey to the Moon that takes place in reverse\, from above to below. \nBetween these two poles unfolds a series of very short stories that\, if they have anything in common\, it’s precisely the act of going against the common sense: strange families whose members are obsessed with the idea of climbing stairs\, accusations against the fanatical enthusiasts of wakefulness\, “dwarfs of the mind” who\, with a simple change of consonant\, reduce what is called mental health to dwarfism. \nAnd then again: girls who sleep on a bed of oxygen splitting into “thirteen pieces”\, others who immerse themselves in bathtubs full of Lexotan\, dolls that vomit books\, marzipan children\, boats that instead of immigrants carry classics of Western philosophy\, a disturbing Vajont where “every morning the night of October 9 reappears very young”\, houses of “intolerance”\, flying dolomites\, wars “imbued with uncivil passion”\, automatic generators of non-existent words… \nWith “We are the wolffish” Lentini continues to practice a blinding\, disconcerting\, and visionary writing that he has already extensively experimented with through his constant collaboration with online writing magazines (especially with “Il Cucchiaio nell’Orecchio”) and in previous books such as “The Mechanical Professors”\, “Three Moons Awaiting”\, “Luminous Lady”. \nWelcoming the “wolffish” is the “glossa” series of the independent publisher pièdimosca which\, for the first time in Italy\, is entirely dedicated to very short prose with a particular attention to experimentation. \nThe series\, directed (or rather “redirected”\, as he himself says) by Carlo Sperduti\, arises from the experience of the “multiperson”\, a blog dedicated to short prose and “microfictions”\, that is\, very short narratives that\, due to their progressive dissemination even in Italy\, can now be considered a genre of their own. \nAlfonso Lentini (Favara\, 1951) was formed in the climate of the Sicilian neo-avant-gardes of the late 20th century. Since the late 1970s he has lived in Belluno. His activity spans from visual arts to writing. \nIn his numerous exhibitions and installations held in Italy and abroad\, he proposes object books\, verbo-visual writings\, and asemantic works\, artist’s books\, and generally works based on the enhancement of the word in its material and gestural dimension. \nHis first solo exhibition dates back to 1976. As part of a collective project on poetry curated by Marco Nereo Rotelli\, in 2001 he participated in the 49th Venice Biennale. \nIn 2013\, together with Aurelio Fort\, he created the international artistic project “Resisting to re/exist” culminating in a large urban installation for the streets and squares of Belluno. \nHis works\, together with those of Flavio Da Rold and Giorgio Vazza\, are exhibited in the object book show “The Timeliness of a Metamorphosis” on the noble floor of the Doglioni palace in Borgo Piave on the weekends of March 29-30 and April 5-6-12-13\, 2025. \nSpaces are limited and reservations are therefore recommended at segreteria@borgopiaveetc.it. \nThe presentation is part of the “Books on Raft” series. \nThere will also be the opportunity to purchase the book on-site. \nOrganized by the Borgo Piave Association\, the book by Alfonso Lentini “We are the wolf fish” will be presented in Belluno\, in the “Da Rosalina” room at via Uniera dei Zatèr 6 in Borgo Piave. Flavio Faoro will speak\, with readings by Sonia Vazza. The presentation is part of the “Books on Rafts” series.

SUMMARY:Vivaio Letterario - Abbastanza buono non è buono
DESCRIPTION:Available spots: 14 \nCost: 40 euros\, all inclusive \nWhere: la Serra\, via Frontin 94a\, Borgo Valbelluna (Belluno) \nHow to get there: \n\nby train (meditative journey)\, Sedico-Bribano or Belluno station \nby car\, highway A27 from Mestre to Belluno\n\nSome time ago\, a champion of artificial intelligence told me: “If you use AI\, you can translate faster and have more time to do what you love.” And I replied\, “But I love translating.” \nFrom this dialogue\, the idea for the subtitle of my translation book was born: “the pleasure of translating.” Because I wanted to emphasize this aspect of my work: the great pleasure that comes from working on the works of great authors (well\, not always great; a book is a relationship\, and sometimes it can happen that I don’t love it)\, the pleasure of research\, of meticulousness\, of listening to others\, the pleasure of shaping my own language to harmonize it with another’s. \nI have been doing this job for twenty-five years\, I have translated almost a hundred books\, and I still work with the same enthusiasm as at the beginning\, perhaps even more. And I enjoy going around telling it\, because I have discovered that among readers there is a great interest in those of us translators who work “between the lines” of their favorite novels. Silvia Pareschi \nWe will be expertly welcomed by Chiara Alpago Novello at 9:30 am for breakfast with coffee\, tea\, and all the good things needed to start the day well; at 12:30 pm\, a light lunch\, greetings\, and a toast. \nBreakfast with Silvia Pareschi.

SUMMARY:Die Weisse Rose - La rosa bianca
DESCRIPTION:COST: €15.00 Theater show \nThe show weaves together the story of the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel and the historical events of the Scholl siblings\, founders of the resistance movement to Nazism “White Rose\,” with remarkable originality. We are surprised by unsuspected parallels: the metaphor of the forest embodies a treacherous and disorienting historical moment\, the witch seduces with the same rhetorical weapons of propaganda\, and the promises in both the fairy tale and History turn out to be illusory. \nBut more than a civil tale\, we will be confronted with a succession of suggestions and evocations\, of scenes constructed from images and minimal actions\, projections\, and backlighting. The set design creates a multitude of layers that overlap like in a dream\, and the sound fabric vibrantly amplifies the story and envelops the audience. \nFrom this suspended and at times intangible dimension\, a question reaches the audience: is a non-violent\, non-heroic\, daily resistance possible and necessary today\, accessible to all? \nPlaywriting and direction: Anna De March and Valentino Bettega \nOn stage: Frida and Alvise Marascalchi\, Anna De March and Valentino Bettega \nMusic for the scene: Higuita Doom \nSet design: Valentino Bettega \nLights: Nicole Slongo \nProduction: Officina delle Pezze \nIn collaboration with the Municipality of Imer\, Fondazione Caritro\, Circolo Cultura e Stampa Bellunese.

SUMMARY:Aprile con l'associazione Rheticus
DESCRIPTION:Entry 5 €\, free for members and children \nOn Saturday\, April 5th at 9 PM\, the Moon will present itself in excellent conditions\, at the First Quarter and very high on the horizon\, allowing it to be observed\, if the seeing is good\, at very high resolution. Initially\, all telescopes will be pointed at it. In particular\, the “medium” telescope at the Center\, the 36 cm Newton\, will be connected to a planetary camera that will film our satellite live and display the image on a large screen\, available simultaneously to all visitors. \nWith the “large” telescope of the Center\, the 64 cm Dobson\, it will be possible to push visual high resolution to the maximum\, using 500 magnifications and\, if conditions allow\, even 800. We will particularly attempt to glimpse the thin groove\, only 600 m in diameter\, that runs along the bottom of the Alpine Valley\, which will present itself in ideal lighting conditions for the endeavor. Furthermore\, the craters Aristoteles and Eudoxus\, Aristillus and Autolycus\, the Caucasus mountain range\, the beginning of the Apennines\, the Rimae Hyginus\, the craters Rheticus\, Hipparchus and Albategnius\, Werner and Aliacensis\, Walter and Stoeffler\, Licetus and Heraclitus will be well visible from north to south. It will also be possible to take a look at Jupiter\, although lower on the horizon than in the winter months\, and some contrastively colored double stars\, such as Winter Albireo\, Iota Cancri\, and Algieba. In case of bad weather\, the best footage collected by members of lunar landscapes will be projected at the planetarium. \nOn Saturday\, April 12th at 9 PM\, Gabriele Vanin will hold a children’s evening titled “The Game of Constellations\,” during which the little ones will be interactively involved in building “living” models to understand\, in a fun way\, the positions and movements of the Sun\, Earth\, Moon\, planets\, and stars. If the weather is also nice\, from an observational point of view it will be an evening characterized by the presence of the bright full Moon\, which will also provide an additional opportunity for interactive experience with the children and their companions\, which we will not reveal and will therefore be a surprise. It will also be possible to observe colorful stars through the telescope\, such as Regulus\, as well as colorfully double and multiple stars. A bright pass of the Chinese Space Station Tiangong will also be observed. \nFinally\, on Saturday\, April 26th at 9 PM\, the first of the evenings that will take place throughout the rest of the year on the last Saturday of the month\, free admission\, will occur\, dedicated to those\, members and non-members\, who want to learn how to use the instruments of the Center\, or also bring and have explained how to use their own. In case of bad weather\, visitors can still ask\, indoors\, for guidance on the functioning of their own instruments\, and the sky of the month will be presented at the planetarium\, with slides and videos. \nSign up or renew your membership to Rheticus. All the methods are available on the home page of the website www.rheticus.it \n Three meetings\, one of which is for children\, dedicated to the observation of the moon\, constellations\, and instruments for the study of celestial bodies.

Also in Piazza Duomo and nearby Piazza delle Erbe\, the antiques market “Cose di vecchie case” returns\, anticipating its summer return. \nThe Festival is also called “Feast of the Fisciòt – whistling toys – because once these were among the best-selling items made by local artisans who handcrafted them in many shapes. \nTraditional Fisciòt Festival!
