DESCRIPTION:Open from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. \nFree admission. \nReservation is not required. \n Extraordinary opening to the public. \nThe pre-Roman necropolis of Mel in Borgo Valbelluna opens exceptionally to the public every Sunday in July and August from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and in conjunction with the openings of the church of the Addolorata in the center of Mel (Saturday\, July 4 and Saturday\, August 1) it will be possible to access and visit the state archaeological area that preserves the monumental burial ground of the Ancient Venetians.  \nA “city of the dead” among the oldest in Valbelluna and one of the few currently visitable in the entire Veneto region\, rediscovered thanks to excavations that began in 1958\, stands at the entrance to the village of Mel and allows us to understand how the Paleoveneti lived and what their economic and social structure was. \nThe approximately 80 tombs found are inserted within 7 circles made of sandstone slabs set vertically in the ground. The ashes of the deceased were placed in ceramic or bronze vessels along with some everyday objects inside polygonal boxes. Thus\, a sort of family tomb was formed. The cremation vessels and all the objects that accompanied the burials – ornaments and tools – are displayed in the rooms of the Civic Archaeological Museum located in the Palazzo delle Contesse in the square of Mel. \nThe Ancient Venetians or Paleoveneti were an Indo-European population that arrived in northeastern Italy after the middle of the 2nd millennium B.C. Thanks to numerous archaeological excavations and related findings\, the history and identity of this population have been reconstructed over the years. The Venetians initially settled in the area between Lake Garda and the Euganean Hills and later expanded to Adria (RO) to the south\, and to the Tagliamento River to the east. \nFree entry.

DESCRIPTION:Cultural paths dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi \nThe cultural paths dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi and the Franciscans\, in the 800 years since the death of the saint\, develop in the City of Feltre and its immediate surroundings due to the numerous traces that are preserved there\, both in places of worship and in some historical sites of the citadel and in areas extra moenia. Among the main stops of the itinerary are the Co-cathedral of Feltre\, which houses altars and altarpieces\, fragments of frescoes\, sculptures\, and relics linked to the Franciscan saints\, or works coming from ancient convents of the Friars Minor or Conventuals (such as that of Santa Maria del Prato)\, the church of San Giacomo Maggiore\, on via Mezza­terra (which preserves works from the vanished convent of Santo Spirito)\, the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Borgo Tezze\, founded along with its convent of Poor Clare nuns by the friar Bernardino Tomitano from Feltre\, the church of the Sacred Heart on via Belluno\, which was built by the Franciscans more recently (20th century)\, along with the convent complex. Lastly\, the Shrine of Saints Vittore and Corona on Mount Miesna (Anzù)\, with images and architectures that recall the brotherhood of the Saint of Assisi. \nAmong the other historical buildings and city museums containing Franciscan memories – which will be visited during the paths – the Diocesan Museum Belluno-Feltre is noteworthy\, hosting important works depicting Saint Francis and Saint Clare\, as well as wooden and stone elements coming from vanished city convents. The Modern Art Gallery “Carlo Rizzarda” will also be a fundamental stop on the urban trek\, where one can admire the splendid wrought iron candelabrum by the teacher from Feltre with Franciscan saints; there\, the thematic exhibition that hosts paintings from the Civic Museum of via Luzzo will also be explained. The need for a brotherhood and sisterhood among creatures\, aimed at sharing the tension towards the Divine\, gave rise to the three orders and the definition of a specific monastic rule. \nThe intimate cohesion with nature is expressed in the poetic inspiration of the Canticle\, a synthesis of Francis’ charism and a relational tool with all living beings. His actions\, so unusual\, have inspired written testimonies aimed at providing a truthful image of him even during his lifetime. \nAlongside these themes\, Francis’ sensitivity constantly evokes the figure of Mary\, protector of the Order\, in a bond based on Humilitas\, Caritas\, and Veritas: virtues in perfect alliance in transmitting the message of Christ and in the embrace of the Cross. \nEntrance to the event is free with a conscious donation. \nThe way to the Sanctuary. DESCRIPTION:Walk: reservation required by the day before – contribution  € 20.00 (lunch not included). \nLunch at Malga Van only by reservation. \nAs part of the event program organized by “The Paths of the Soul” and “Malga Van”\, on Sunday\, July 5 a hike is planned on the peaks of the Belluno Pre-Alps with environmental guides Ester Andrich and Paolo Tormen\, in discovery of medicinal herbs and the ancient stories that inhabit the ridges above Valmorel. \nThe meeting point is set for 8:45 a.m. at Pian del Vescovo\, where parking is available. \nThe itinerary will develop along the scenic Troi dei Cavai\, passing through Casere Frascon and Malga Cor\, crossing woods\, pastures\, and ancient mountain sites. \nThe duration is about 4.5 hours\, with a positive elevation gain of 450 meters. The excursion will conclude at Malga Van\, where those interested can stop to taste genuine dishes prepared with local products. \nAdequate clothing is recommended: trekking boots\, a jacket\, and trekking poles. \nEthnobotanical excursion
