DESCRIPTION:In Valmorel\, this year we again have a competition dedicated to all those who  wish to challenge themselves with their creativity. This time\, the competition takes  a purely photographic form in memory of the friend and photographer Loris De Barba\,  who was engulfed by his beloved mountains just under a year ago. \n  Loris loved everything about his valleys and mountains: the waters\, the rocks\, the snow\, the  sunsets and the sunrises when the entire landscape seems to hold its breath. A  Russian poet wrote that only in enthusiasm does a human being see the world  exactly. And Loris knew how to see and photograph it with his eyes and his heart. He  could capture it and generously gifted it to us\, he knew how to seize the beauty and gave it to us  so that we could enjoy it.  \n The title of the competition “Man and Mountain” aims to remember the figure of Loris\, so  dear to Valmorel\, his symbiosis with the mountain\, and to stimulate participants to capture  with a non-professional shot the small and large glimpses\, silences\, joys\, labors\, and  experiences that connect humans to the mountain landscape. \nGlimpses\, silences\, joys\, labors\, and experiences to tell for a photographic competition aimed at amateur photographers\, not professionals. \nSend your shots by June 15\, 2025\, to the email: concorsolorisdebarba@gmail.com \nUp for grabs is a stay for two people for one night in a B&B in Valmorel – Limana\, a dinner for two in a typical Valmorel restaurant\, and a basket of local products. \nSpecial mention with popular vote on Facebook. \nComplete regulations at www.valmorel.it \nLoris De Barba Photography Competition.

DESCRIPTION:Steps of discovery with Anacleto Boranga\, naturalistic and environmental educator. \nSecond appointment of the educational hike “CammiNATURAlmente”. \n– Sunday\, May 4 in the Castionese to discover an ancient convent among majestic centuries-old trees. \nStarting from Modolo\, where the majestic Villa Miari dominates\, we will reach Prà Caval.Here\, one can admire a precious and mysterious (hospital/convent?) isolated building\, the existence of which many are unaware\, also due to the lack of written documentation\, but which was located along a route frequented by pilgrims and travelers. \nNearby\, one can admire an imposing white poplar and a suggestive row of centuries-old oaks\, both included in the ministerial register of monumental trees. \nContinuing along country lanes\, we will approach a deep gorge by the Meassa stream\, near which we will observe\, in the garden of a dwelling\, a towering sequoia reminiscent of the monumental one in Vajont. \nDuration is about 3 hours. The proposed hike\, suitable for an experienced hiker\, includes a good elevation gain\, with some points where “steady and secure footing” is necessary\, and promises beautiful emotions as well as a very characteristic panorama. \n \nOn Sunday\, May 11\, instead\, we will move to the Lagorai group.  \nLagorai off the beaten path: a mountainous group of considerable size\, offering diversified and sparsely populated environments\, away from mass tourism\, for a hike on trail traces\, areas that\, over a hundred years after the Great War\, still show visible scars on the land.
