DESCRIPTION:From September 12 to 28\, a photography exhibition titled “Ruggero Monego: a life lived with courage” will be held at Villa Patt in Sedico. \nThe exhibition focuses on the final period of World War II\, particularly on the day of Liberation in Santa Giustina. The photographs on display\, taken on May 2\, 1945\, document the welcome given by the local people to the Allied liberation troops. These images were preserved by Ruggero Monego\, who made them available for reproduction about twenty years ago\, along with his personal memories of that day. \nRuggero Monego was born in Cesiomaggiore\, Belluno\, in 1920. He graduated as a technical draftsman and worked as a carpenter. Drafted in 1940\, he fought during World War II in France and Montenegro. After September 8\, 1943\, he joined the Resistance\, adopting the battle name Tabor. He fought with the Gramsci Brigade in the Vette Feltrine\, where he distinguished himself for his courage. After the war\, the difficulty of reintegrating into social life and the pain of his brother Franco’s death\, killed by the Nazis\, led him to emigrate to Belgium\, where he worked as a miner. He returned to Italy with his wife Teresa and their firstborn Franco; later\, their three daughters\, Flavia\, Francesca\, and Tiziana\, were born. \nAdmission to the exhibition is free. \nThe opening hours of the exhibition are: Monday to Friday by appointment\, by contacting via email at m.barbonetti@provincia.belluno.it or by calling 0437 959331. \nOn Saturdays and Sundays\, entry is from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. \nTemporary photography exhibition

DESCRIPTION:Evening for children \nThe advance notice is necessary to observe two spectacular satellite passes with the naked eye\, the International Space Station\, right at 8:45 PM\, and the Chinese Tiangong\, at 8:54 PM. \nThe evening will invite children to unleash their imagination by forming their own personal constellations using powerful lasers\, based on the stars that gradually light up in the sky. In fact\, there is no mandatory path for identifying groups and connections between them. On the contrary\, many are surprised to hear that the sky can reveal figures of heroes\, animals\, mythical or real\, and objects of various kinds. Moreover\, different cultures in the past have seen different groups and constellations in the sky compared to ours\, with other stories and myths. \nWe will also discover that behind the various star groups\, there often lie not real things\, but seasonal indicators or symbolic-sacred representations. Through the telescope\, we will observe nebulae\, galaxies\, star clusters\, the beautiful Pleiades\, even with the naked eye\, the planet Saturn\, and much more. \nIn case of bad weather\, the lesson can still take place in the same manner\, without any loss of meaning\, under the dome of the planetarium. The observational part through the telescope will be replaced with the viewing of spectacular videos.

DESCRIPTION:The road to the Sanctuary. A musical\, poetic\, and educational journey \nThe Cross is among the central themes of the oldest Western musical repertoire: Gregorian chant\, monody\, and late medieval polyphony. The depth of the texts that address it is objective\, tracing back to the very core of Christianity\, namely the death and resurrection of Christ. The images are among the most touching\, for the deeply human dimension encapsulated in the figure of the Son and in the wrenching pain of Mary\, who at the foot of the Cross is first and foremost a mother and a woman. \nMonody and chorality sometimes alternate\, sometimes intertwine\, symbolizing communal participation in the path of salvation that necessarily involves suffering. However\, within the musical journey\, there are also intonations filled with both strength and sweetness\, which narrate and express the stature of the two main figures in the narrative of the Cross\, Christ – Man and Mary – Woman. These intonations are entrusted not only to the voices but also to the specific timbre of wind and string instruments with evocative sound\, contemporary to the proposed repertoire. \nSo the meditation becomes more intense\, relating the listener to a historical time in which both vocal and instrumental music\, understood in their indispensable utility for the spiritual life of man\, were also an integral part of the ritual\, making for an absolute moment of worship\, a sure nourishment for the soul.

The incessant rain caused streams to overflow\, dragging logs and debris downstream.  \n In the course of a night\, the residents of several mountain communities in Trentino\, Veneto\, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia found their cellars flooded and their houses stripped of roofs by the wind.  \nSix years later\, the consequences of the Vaia storm are still visible and tangible. Many trees remain on the ground\, as collecting them is a complex operation that requires experience and resources.   Their wood feeds the bark beetle\, a parasitic insect that moves from dead plants to those still standing\, causing damage six times greater than that of the storm.  \nFurthermore\, the fallen trees no longer serve their protective function against landslides and avalanches\, and the damaged beds of the streams are no longer able to channel and contain the water.   As experts and locals roll up their sleeves to restore normalcy\, the overall economic damage has been estimated at over three billion euros. Storms have always been part of the history of the forests\, but global warming is amplifying their scale and frequency.  \n With a documentary approach and in dialogue with elements of scientific research and archives\, There’s No Calm After the Storm investigates the long-term consequences of the Vaia storm.
