Following the reading of the “Testament of the Vecia“\, there is the spectacular “bonfire” of the Vecia\, which evokes an ancient custom of popular tradition. It is\, in fact\, a true “rite of passage” from the old to the new\, from the bad season to the good season\, which carries with it the will to avert all malevolence and to favor goodness. \nEvery year\, the Pro Loco of Trichiana has the various districts and fractions “compete” to determine the winner; scores are given based on the reading of the testament\, the bonfire\, and the choreography! The appointment is on Saturday\, March 29 at 8:15 PM with the burning of the Vecia at Parco Lotto. \nMany other initiatives are associated with the event each year. \nOn Saturday\, the 22nd\, in Piazza Merlin and Piazza Saubens from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM\, the market “Robe de na olta” showcases objects and flavors of the past\, an antique market\, and local products with demonstrations of crafts and games from bygone days. \nAt 6:15 PM\, the non-competitive walk “La vecia che camina de not” will depart from Piazza Saubens to discover the most picturesque corners of Trichiana. A 3.5 km route at a free pace with stages of shows\, music\, and refreshment! To participate\, a headlamp or flashlight is required. Registration is €5. At the end\, music with DJ Fabris. DESCRIPTION:I am convinced that the present\, which envelops us and often drags us along\, hides within its material traces\, relationships\, and meanings that are worth investigating and telling. Never like today are we leaving things behind. The eye of archaeology has the ability to grasp the invisible\, to value marginal details\, and to reconstruct seemingly lost connections. \nI work with things and in places\, documenting objects\, memories\, landscapes\, tangible and intangible stories of people and communities. I seek out traces\, position them in space\, analyze their shape\, materials\, reconstructing their origins\, trying to understand uses and meanings. Everything is interconnected. \nDoing present archaeology in critical contexts – for example\, working on contemporary Mediterranean migrations – means making an effort for collective restitution; it is trying to counter-narrate through the data collected in the field\, reading the transformations of a time of which we are a part\, recontextualizing and identifying new attributions of value. Pierobon in Paiane. \n‘The Front Page’ tells the story of the life\, in the early 1900s\, of the inhabitants of a small town in the United States of America: Grover’s Corners. Wilder makes us reflect on the values of human life and the universe. It is an extraordinary journey into the ordinary\, an attempt to find a supreme value for all the small events of our daily lives. It is a claim\, a demand. Grover’s Corner could be any town or place of life\, against the backdrop of the vast dimensions of time and space.The words that continuously recur in this play are “hundreds\,” “thousands\,” “millions.” The mistake is to try to “navigate life” only through numbers or money\, instead of delving into human relationships and the dreams contained within them. And here the scenic setup finds its justification. Our claim\, our hope\, our despair are in the mind\, not in things\, not in the “scenery.”A poetic text that in its apparent simplicity brings us back to dreams\, to the moon\, to the stars. Not an easy task these days. Remembering to “live” these things may not always make us feel good\, but it will make us feel better. A right time to reflect. DESCRIPTION:Come to the presentation of the book “Sacre Ossa Storie di reliquie\, santi e pellegrini” by Federico Canaccini. \nThe Diocesan Museum of Belluno-Feltre is pleased to host Saturday\, March 22 at 6:00 PM the presentation of the book “Sacred Bones Stories of Relics\, Saints\, and Pilgrims” by Federico Canaccini. \nThe work pursues the stories related to the world of relics\, a world that may seem exclusively linked to devotional aspects\, faith\, and the exaltation of the sacred\, but that hides adventurous journeys\, deceptions\, theological disputes\, pitched battles\, and centuries-old power relations.These stories feature not only saints and churchmen but also sovereigns\, leaders\, extraordinary women\, nobles\, and minor characters like pirates\, thieves\, skillful impostors\, and a lot of good-hearted poor people. These stories will take the reader from the imperial palace of Constantinople to what remains of Calvary near Jerusalem\, from the heart of Arabia to misty Britannia\, from abbeys to royal palaces\, from small rural chapels to the cathedrals of the largest cities in Europe. THE AUTHOR \nFederico Canaccini\, a medievalist\, has been dealing with Italian municipal history for years\, with particular attention to the conflict between the Guelf and Ghibelline factions.He teaches Medieval History at LUMSA in Rome and has taught History of War in the Middle Ages at the Catholic University of America in Washington\, Latin Paleography\, and Medieval Philosophy at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome.                                                               As a researcher at Princeton University\, he has undertaken a critical edition work of Quodlibetal Questions and unpublished astrological treaties. He is a regular contributor to the magazine Medioevo\, for which he also curates the opening section. Among his publications are Ghibellines and Ghibellinism in Tuscany from Montaperti to Campaldino (2007)\, Matteo d’Acquasparta between Dante and Boniface VIII (2008)\, and At the Heart of the First Jubilee (2016). For Laterza\, he is the author of 1268. The Battle of Tagliacozzo (2018)\, 1289. DESCRIPTION:In case of bad weather\, the bonfire on March 29 is postponed to Saturday\, April 5.The traditional mid-Lent festival returns to Trichiana! \nThe great Mid-Lent festival organized by Pro Loco Trichiana is back. \n“Brusa la Vecia” is a traditional event that takes place during the Mid-Lent period. Following the reading of the “Testament of the Vecia“\, there is the spectacular “bonfire” of the Vecia\, which evokes an ancient custom of popular tradition. It is\, in fact\, a true “rite of passage” from the old to the new\, from the bad season to the good season\, which carries with it the will to avert all malevolence and to favor goodness. \nEvery year\, the Pro Loco of Trichiana has the various districts and fractions “compete” to determine the winner; scores are given based on the reading of the testament\, the bonfire\, and the choreography! The appointment is on Saturday\, March 29 at 8:15 PM with the burning of the Vecia at Parco Lotto. \nMany other initiatives are associated with the event each year. \nOn Saturday\, the 22nd\, in Piazza Merlin and Piazza Saubens from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM\, the market “Robe de na olta” showcases objects and flavors of the past\, an antique market\, and local products with demonstrations of crafts and games from bygone days. \nAt 6:15 PM\, the non-competitive walk “La vecia che camina de not” will depart from Piazza Saubens to discover the most picturesque corners of Trichiana. A 3.5 km route at a free pace with stages of shows\, music\, and refreshment! To participate\, a headlamp or flashlight is required. Registration is €5. At the end\, music with DJ Fabris. During the event\, there will be equipped kiosks and Food Trucks. \nFrom March 22 to March 29\, the challenge among merchants “the fiery window” invites you to visit all the decorated shop windows for the occasion; you can participate in the drawing of 3 vouchers to be used at the participating businesses! \n  Live streaming of the bonfire on YouTube and Facebook thanks to the Association of Bellunesi in the World and Radio ABM.

Never like today are we leaving things behind. The eye of archaeology has the ability to grasp the invisible\, to value marginal details\, and to reconstruct seemingly lost connections. \nI work with things and in places\, documenting objects\, memories\, landscapes\, tangible and intangible stories of people and communities. I seek out traces\, position them in space\, analyze their shape\, materials\, reconstructing their origins\, trying to understand uses and meanings. Everything is interconnected. \nDoing present archaeology in critical contexts – for example\, working on contemporary Mediterranean migrations – means making an effort for collective restitution; it is trying to counter-narrate through the data collected in the field\, reading the transformations of a time of which we are a part\, recontextualizing and identifying new attributions of value.
