DESCRIPTION:The Ex Tempore Wood Sculpture is a competition organized by the Consortium Belluno Historic Center\, which has long been the most awaited event of the Belluno autumn\, in the period leading up to the beloved feast of the Patron Saint\, St. Martin (November 11). \nEstablished in the now distant 1986\, the event is one of the most important national exhibitions in terms of popularity and tradition: participants in the symposium come from all over Italy. \nDay after day\, amidst the scent of larch wood and the sound of chisels and chainsaws\, sculptors animate the streets and squares of the historic center\, shaping their works under the curious eyes of passersby\, both young and old. \nThe inauguration of the Belluno City of Wood Festival and the XXXVIII Ex Tempore of Wood Culture will take place on Tuesday\, November 4th\, in the Noble Hall of the Fulcis Museum at 11:30 AM. \nThis will be an opportunity to reaffirm how important wood is for the city and province of Belluno: what it means for our identity as mountain dwellers\, as well as for our present and the future we envision. \nIt is a material at the center of numerous challenges\, many of which have already been faced in the past by skilled artisans. \nThis exhibition aims to involve a wide audience in discovering this material as the protagonist of our past\, present\, and future. \n \nReview of popularity and tradition

DESCRIPTION:39th Sculpture Symposium \nThe Ex Tempore of Wood Sculpture is a competition organized by the Consortium Belluno Centro Storico\, which has for years been the most awaited event of the Belluno autumn\, during the period leading up to the beloved Feast of the Patron Saint San Martino (November 11). \nFrom Tuesday\, November 4 to Sunday\, November 9\, the heart of Belluno’s historic center transforms into a large open-air workshop during the Symposium of Sculpture\, one of the most awaited events of the Ex Tempore. For several days\, the rhythmic sound of chainsaws and chisels echoes among the ancient walls\, while artists\, positioned in various spots\, bring unique works to life\, skillfully and passionately sculpting wood. \n The air is filled with the unmistakable fragrance of larch\, resinous and intense\, blending with the voices of onlookers and the murmur of the city. DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, November 7\, the inauguration event of the artwork “The Creation“\, donated by Maria Antonia Fedon to the Teatro Comunale Dino Buzzati\, will take place precisely in the entrance anteroom. \nThe artwork\, which consists of three parts measuring 75×280 cm in total\, was painted in 1995/1996 using oil technique and is inspired by the reading of the eponymous short story by the Bellunese writer Dino Buzzati. In those years\, Maria Antonia Fedon artistically and dreamily reinterpreted all of Buzzati’s literary works\, creating 19 oil paintings inspired by selected passages from the novels and stories of the Bellunese writer.The well-known critic Erminio Mazzucco will introduce the artwork and the artistic personality of Maria Antonia Fedon. \nAfter the inauguration\, the event will move to the nearby Palazzo Crepadona\, where a short concert will be held\, featuring the Duo Synaulia\, composed of Raffaella De Col Tana on flute and Elisabetta Marino on harp\, who will perform music by Bernard Andrès\, Claude Debussy\, Marcel Granjany\, Jaques Ibert. The venue for the concert is not coincidental\, as it was at Palazzo Crepadona\, in 1996\, that the entire collection dedicated to Buzzati was presented to the public and critics in the major solo exhibition “Maria Antonia Fedon. In the book “My Land. Memories between dream and reality\,” she recounts her version of the destruction of the city of Cornia learned from the gardener …“The lord of the garden was Toni Milan\, a tall and thin gypsy with reddish hair and beard\, an earring in his left lobe\, always busy smoking a pipe or chewing tobacco.
