DESCRIPTION:The text\, published with the support of the Veneto Region and the General Directorate of Libraries and Cultural Institutes of the Ministry of Culture and sponsored by the State Archive of Belluno\, the Anpi\, and 23 municipalities and the province of Belluno\, presents itself\, also in its graphic design\, as the natural continuation of the project launched years ago by the Historical Institute of Belluno\, which first materialized in the publication of the volume The Courage and Passion. Partisans and Patriots Recognized in Belluno and Belluno Soldiers Recognized as Partisans Abroad\, edited by Franco Comin and Silvia Comin under the scientific direction of Enrico Bacchetti\, Diego Cason\, and Adriana Lotto. \nThe volume reconstructs the history of the resistance movement that operated across the provinces of Belluno and Treviso\, drawing on almost exclusively archival sources\, from the State Archive of Belluno to the Central State Archive in Rome (Ricompart Fund) to the Archives of the Historical Institutes of Resistance in Belluno and Vittorio Veneto\, and that of the University Center for the History of the Resistance and the Contemporary Age in Padua. \nIt also uses published testimonies and audio cassette recordings of the protagonists and specific literature. \nIn particular\, the first part focuses on the birth of the five formations operating in the territory of the Left Piave from Cansiglio to Monte Grappa\, their actions\, their political and military relationships\, their relationship with Allied missions\, and partisans’ justice. \nThe second part consists of about 1500 profiles of partisans\, patriots\, collaborators\, and distinguished individuals. \nAdditionally\, the third part includes significant documents produced by the formations during the twenty months of struggle. \nThe event is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Cesiomaggiore\, the Tina Merlin Association\, and Anpi. \nFree entry. \n  \nBook presentation: Facing the Enemy. SUMMARY:Festa de San Dordi '26
DESCRIPTION:The patron saint is Saint George\, a soldier from Cappadocia who was martyred under Diocletian in 303. He is celebrated on April 23.The Vow\, which gave rise to the festival and has historical significance for the town\, dates back to the Plague of 1631. In that year\, the epidemic described by Manzoni had reached Sorriva\, claiming many victims\, so much so that the town was quarantined and surrounded by guards. The dead\, exhumed\, were buried in designated graves (in the Pian dei mort area)\, as recalled by the parish priest Don Francesco Todeschi. The doctor Zaccaria del Pozzo took action to have everything that could spread the contagion burned. \nThus\, the population\, through the two family heads Tomio and Baldassarre De Cia\, turned to Saint George\, promising to sanctify the commanded holidays\, fast on the vigils\, and lead a truly Christian life forever. However\, such promises proved to be too burdensome from the outset\, and it was decided to commutate the vow by perpetually sanctifying the feast of Saint George (on April 23) and offering the church a painted leather altar frontal. Additionally\, a procession and the distribution of bean soup to the town’s poor were added. \nEven today\, this particular tradition is respected: the Mass of the Vow is celebrated on April 23\, while the beans are collected from house to house\, then prepared and cooked\, to make the soup that is distributed the Sunday following the feast of the saint. On that day\, a procession takes place with the cappati (figures dressed as members of the dissolved Archconfraternity of the Most Holy Sacrament) who carry crosses\, torches\, and the banner. \nA Mass of suffrage is then celebrated with the blessing of the soup\, prepared each year by three different families\, which is then distributed by the conscripts (twenty-year-olds of the year) to all those present in the town. Alongside all this\, an animated festival takes place\, characterized by a distinctly gastronomic and folkloric flavor. \n \nFood and wine stand and the unmissable San Dordi procession with the blessing of the “San Dordi soup”

DESCRIPTION:The patron saint is Saint George\, a soldier from Cappadocia who was martyred under Diocletian in 303. He is celebrated on April 23.The Vow\, which gave rise to the festival and has historical significance for the town\, dates back to the Plague of 1631. In that year\, the epidemic described by Manzoni had reached Sorriva\, claiming many victims\, so much so that the town was quarantined and surrounded by guards. The dead\, exhumed\, were buried in designated graves (in the Pian dei mort area)\, as recalled by the parish priest Don Francesco Todeschi. The doctor Zaccaria del Pozzo took action to have everything that could spread the contagion burned. \nThus\, the population\, through the two family heads Tomio and Baldassarre De Cia\, turned to Saint George\, promising to sanctify the commanded holidays\, fast on the vigils\, and lead a truly Christian life forever. However\, such promises proved to be too burdensome from the outset\, and it was decided to commutate the vow by perpetually sanctifying the feast of Saint George (on April 23) and offering the church a painted leather altar frontal. Additionally\, a procession and the distribution of bean soup to the town’s poor were added. \nEven today\, this particular tradition is respected: the Mass of the Vow is celebrated on April 23\, while the beans are collected from house to house\, then prepared and cooked\, to make the soup that is distributed the Sunday following the feast of the saint. On that day\, a procession takes place with the cappati (figures dressed as members of the dissolved Archconfraternity of the Most Holy Sacrament) who carry crosses\, torches\, and the banner. \nA Mass of suffrage is then celebrated with the blessing of the soup\, prepared each year by three different families\, which is then distributed by the conscripts (twenty-year-olds of the year) to all those present in the town. Alongside all this\, an animated festival takes place\, characterized by a distinctly gastronomic and folkloric flavor. \n \nFood and wine stand and the unmissable San Dordi procession with the blessing of the “San Dordi soup”

DESCRIPTION:On Sunday the 26th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM\, the streets of Borgo Prà come alive with “Remembering the Marangoni and the ancient crafts“\, a fair celebrating tradition. \nAn initiative born in 2023\, with the idea of breathing new life into the famous Marangoni festival\, which had not taken place in the square of Borgo Pra for 15 years\, dedicating it to the ancient trades that characterized the village\, enhancing the history\, roots\, and identity of the Belluno community. \nA narrative directed at younger generations regarding the history of the territory and its community. Remembering the trades of our grandparents\, traditions\, and ways of living that are very distant from the experiences lived today by younger generations\, also fostering the revitalization and rediscovery of the local districts. \nHere’s what you will find: \n– The square of the Borgo hosts handicrafts\, wrought iron\, and ancient arts: all waiting to be discovered! Throughout the day\, artisans will share their experiences by offering free workshops open to everyone.– In the morning\, there will be a drawing ex tempore dedicated to children\, to depict their favorite corner of the Borgo. DESCRIPTION:Mandatory booking at least two days before the hike – Contribution € 15.00 Environmental guided walk \nOrganized by “I Cammini dell’Anima”\, Sunday\, April 26  will feature a walk along the paths of Medil\, in the Tassei area\, accompanied by environmental guide Anacleto Boranga.  \nThe route\, lasting about 3 hours\, develops over a distance of 4 km (round trip) with a positive elevation gain of about 200 meters. The meeting point is set for 2:30 PM  at Pian del Monte\, the starting point of the hike.  \nMedil overlooks the valley crossed by the Cicogna stream and preserves on its slopes an ancient rural dwelling\, no longer inhabited but a significant testament to the past agricultural activity of the area.
