But in any case\, it was a job: I went to the office every day\, sometimes I traveled for work\, I had a manager\, colleagues\, and panettone at Christmas. \nIt was all clearer. \nAt one point\, however – I was forty-two years old\, had three small children\, and no grandparents to leave them with – I thought it wise to create a bit more disorder in my professional life. I quit my job and went back to studying. Two years later\, I started working as an interpreter\, collaborating with publishers\, festivals\, and literary awards\, and soon other projects came along: writing\, translation\, event organization\, communication. Quite a lot\, in short\, and all always around or in proximity to books. \nFrom one perspective\, my mom has every reason to be a bit confused. What she perhaps doesn’t know is that\, as I see it\, these professions are the same thing\, or nearly so. Because everything I do somehow relates to the use of words. The charm of language. Empathy. DESCRIPTION:Belluno is preparing to host a unique cultural event: on March 14th\, at 6 PM\, at Palazzo Crepadona\, the first day of the inclusive reading marathon will begin. Organized by the International Center for Spoken Books (CILP)\, an association that has always been committed to promoting inclusion through reading. The initiative proposes a “reading” that will involve young people from Belluno with different abilities\, together with readers of the spoken book\, artists\, and enthusiasts\, to tell the glorious stories of the 1956 Olympics. \nThe event in Belluno will be the first of three: two more days will follow in Feltre\, on March 28th\, and in Cortina\, on April 12th. Participants will include boys and girls from the associations ASSI\, AIPD\, and the Italian Union of the Blind\, who will share their voices and perspectives in a reading and history moment open to all\, designed to enhance inclusivity and participation.  \nThe CILP\, established with the goal of breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for everyone through reading\, will work to ensure that this event becomes a moment of sharing\, demonstrating once again in its long history how culture and inclusion can walk together. DESCRIPTION:544 is inspired by the story of Franca Viola\, a reserved girl who lived in a small village in Sicily with her mother\, father\, and younger brother. In December 1965\, 13 men including her ex-boyfriend burst into her home\, beating her mother and abducting Franca and her little brother. \nThe little brother would be released after two days while Franca remained a prisoner for 10 days\, suffering violence and rape. Her virginity had been given to a rapist: an abuse that would have been\, by law and tradition\, a mark of ownership that freed the ex-boyfriend from any crime thanks to article 544. \nFranca\, supported by her father\, said no. The two of them against everyone. No testimony in their favor. Absolute omertà. This time not in favor of the mafia\, but to protect an entire system – an entire state. \nArticle 544 of the civil code regulated the so-called “repairing marriage.” Women were equated to male property\, particularly in cases of so-called “crimes against public morality\,” such as sexual violence. In these cases\, it was not the victim who was protected\, but rather the social good manners\, which had to be safeguarded even at the cost of the freedom of choice of women who had suffered violence. \nThe repairing marriage represented\, until its abolition in 1981\, a way out for those who had committed rape. Many probably thought that this article was created to be repealed\, but no one had the courage to denounce it as it was part of a deeply rooted culture accepted by everyone. \nThis text aims to shake\, heal\, and dismantle a mentality that seems linked to the past but actually lives in our present. The inspiration is taken from a famous phrase by Antonio Machado\, which for us represents a powerful existential metaphor: “Traveler\, there is no path\, the path is made by walking”. Perhaps there is a destination\, but there is no predefined path to reach it; destiny is created through choices\, actions\, and the experience of the journey itself. Life is a continuous self-determination. Every step leaves a mark\, which constitutes the trace on the path\, which does not exist before being walked. \nThe TILT association – Everyone Together We Work for the Territory builds its journey by sharing experiences\, seeking alliances\, stimulating action\, without looking for a pre-drawn road. On the occasion of the so-called “Women’s Day\,” it does not just want to celebrate\, but to reflect and make others reflect by seeking women who in some way leave traces and encouraging personal and group awareness. DESCRIPTION:The event is part of the civil calendar of March in Belluno. \nIn addition to the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8\, on that same day\, the city commemorated the ten partisans hanged at the Bosco delle Castagne (an event dating back to March 10\, 1945) and on the 17th\, the four freedom fighters who were also hanged in Piazza dei Martiri (then Campedel). \nThe book at the center of the meeting contains references to stories of women from Belluno and photographs preserved by the Isbrec\, starting from the cover image and focusing on the presence and participation of women in the liberation struggle. \nThe work of Margherita Becchetti is part of a trend – gender history – which is increasingly explored and frequented by research that\, in relation to the partisan war\, has found significant development especially in recent decades. \nFor a long time\, the issue of female presence was dismissed as a mere contribution or participation that did not fully highlight the role actually played by women. \nBecchetti’s book emphasizes the concrete contribution made by the female world to the struggle against Nazi-Fascism\, starting from some questions: what did it mean for those women to enter a man’s world? \nHow were they perceived? What internal blocks and prejudices did they have to overcome? What satisfactions or disappointments did they derive from that experience? \nThese questions aim to be addressed in the meeting on March 16\, during which the author will discuss her book with Enrico Bacchetti\, director of the Isbrec. \nParticipation is free. \nEvening dedicated to the presentation of the book Not for Beauty. DESCRIPTION:Presentation of the book by Margherita Becchetti \nOn Monday\, March 16\, there will be a presentation of Margherita Becchetti’s book “Not for Beauty – Women (and Men) in the Partisan Struggle” at Palazzo Crepadona. \nWhen Elsa Oliva climbed into the mountains to join a partisan formation\, she made things clear right away to the men who gave her sly looks. She told them she was not there to find a lover\, nor to serve or care for them. She asked to have a weapon; otherwise\, she would leave\, and added that she would keep it not for beauty. Elsa Oliva had a rare determination for women of her time. Not all could be as assertive and bold as she was. Entering the world of men was difficult; some succeeded\, while others remained on the margins. All of them paid a price. \nSo what did the partisan struggle mean for them? How were they received or treated? And how much of what they experienced resembles what women today feel when they venture into male-dominated realms? \nFree admission.

DESCRIPTION:A review of five events that will transform the Teatro de la Sena into a laboratory for collective reflection on Equal Opportunities. \nThe initiative is part of the European project EQUALIT-À\, aiming to raise awareness among citizens about gender equality and local development. The outcomes of the meetings will be compiled into a final publication\, a tangible legacy that will be available to the cross-border community. \nThe EQUALIT-A’ project\, led by GAL Prealpi e Dolomiti\, aims to build a cross-border network between Italy and Austria to promote a culture of equity and joint governance of equal opportunities among the involved territories.
