SUMMARY:Vivaio Letterario - La memoria della carota. Storie e segreti dal cuore dei ghia
DESCRIPTION:Available spots: 14 \nCost: 40 euros\, all-inclusive \nWhere: la Serra\, via Frontin 94a\, Borgo Valbelluna (Belluno) \nHow to get there: \n\nby train (meditative journey)\, Sedico-Bribano or Belluno station \nby car\, A27 motorway from Mestre to Belluno\n\nBreakfast with Carlo Barbante \nDearest\, today I take you on a fascinating journey\, a dive into the most remote past of our planet. My book\, Written in Ice\, is the product of years of research in the extreme conditions of polar and alpine glaciers. Imagine extracting ice cores from the heart of the Earth\, true natural archives that preserve intact the traces of the climate and environment from thousands of years ago. \nEach layer\, every bubble of trapped air\, tells us an extraordinary story: the temperatures\, the composition of the atmosphere\, volcanic eruptions\, even the presence of ancient civilizations. This precious information is not just fascinating trivia\, but fundamental tools for understanding climate evolution and\, above all\, for facing the challenges of the future. Get ready to discover how ice speaks to us about our past to help us build a better tomorrow. Carlo Barbante \nWe will be expertly welcomed by Chiara Alpago Novello at 9:30 for breakfast with coffee\, tea\, all the delicious things needed to start the day well—biscuits\, yogurt\, and cheeses\, fruit jams\, and whatever the awakening and the season inspire\, all sourced locally. At 12:30\, a light lunch\, goodbyes\, and toasts. In between\, chatter\, questions\, and great ideas. As much as you want.

SUMMARY:Giornate FAI d'autunno
DESCRIPTION:Note: Guided tours every 30 minutes for groups of a maximum of 30 people\, last entry at 5:30 PM Visit to the former bishop’s seminary \nThe FAI Autumn Days are back\, the great autumn square event that FAI dedicates to the cultural and landscape heritage of our Country\, animated and promoted by the FAI Youth Groups\, with the support of all Delegations. \n In Feltre\, visitors will see the former bishopric seminary\, a complex located in the center of Feltre\, right next to the Cathedral of San Pietro. \n It stands on the site of the ancient convent of the Poor Clares of Santa Chiara (1297)\, in an urban fabric that intertwines religious history\, architecture\, and educational functions. The city\, surrounded by the landscape of the Belluno Dolomites\, offers a setting of great charm\, with its Renaissance center rich in frescoed palaces\, churches\, and natural views that make it one of the most characteristic places in Valbelluna. \n The Seminary of Feltre was founded in 1593 by Bishop Jacopo Rovellio\, in compliance with Tridentine provisions\, with a Jesuit study program. After various locations\, in 1845\, architect Giuseppe Segusini renovated the former convent of Santa Chiara\, donated by Emperor Ferdinand I. \nThe institute maintained its educational vocation for centuries: from the bishopric gymnasium open to laypeople (1811) to the minor seminary (1909). Notable alumni include Albino Luciani (1923-1928) and Luigi Negrelli (1799-1858). Since 1990\, following the vocational crisis\, the structure has become a boarding school for students and a university residence\, thus preserving its educational function.

SUMMARY:Visit the Necropolis of the Ancient Veneti
DESCRIPTION:Open from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. \nFree admission. \nReservation is not required. \n Extraordinary opening to the public. \nThe pre-Roman necropolis of Mel in Borgo Valbelluna opens extraordinarily to the public for “Mele a Mel”. It will be possible to access and visit the state archaeological area that preserves the monumental burial ground of the Ancient Veneti on Saturday\, October 11\, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM\, and Sunday\, October 12\, from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. \nA “city of the dead” among the oldest in Valbelluna and one of the few currently visitable in the entire Veneto region\, rediscovered thanks to the excavations that began in 1958\, it rises at the entrance of the village of Mel and allows us to learn how the Paleoveneti lived and what their economic and social structure was. \nThe approximately 80 tombs found are placed within 7 circles formed by sandstone slabs driven into the ground in a vertical position. The ashes of the deceased were placed in ceramic or bronze vases along with some everyday objects inside polygonal boxes. Thus\, a sort of family tomb was formed. The cinerary vases and all the items that accompanied the burials – ornaments and tools – are displayed in the rooms of the Civic Archaeological Museum located in the Palazzo delle Contesse in the square of Mel. \nThe ancient Veneti or Paleoveneti were an Indo-European population that arrived in northeastern Italy after the middle of the 2nd millennium BC. Thanks to numerous archaeological excavations and related finds\, the history and identity of this population has been reconstructed over the years. The Veneti initially settled in the area between Lake Garda and the Euganean Hills and later expanded to Adria (RO) to the south and to the Tagliamento River to the east. \nFree entry.

SUMMARY:Franco Fiabane 1937-2015
DESCRIPTION:Ten years after the passing of Franco Fiabane\, the Civic Museum of Belluno hosts a major retrospective exhibition dedicated to the work of one of the most significant sculptors of the late 20th century Veneto\, set up in the rooms of Palazzo Fulcis from October 11\, 2025\, to January 11\, 2026. \nThe exhibition path\, which presents over 180 works\, traces more than 50 years of activity: from the first experiences in the workshop to the grand international exhibitions\, passing through the numerous public works scattered throughout the province. An opportunity to rediscover the value and artistic legacy of Franco Fiabane\, who with his work has left a profound mark on the Belluno community and beyond. \nSymbolically anticipating the opening of the exhibition\, one of the most monumental and representative works of the artist has been exceptionally placed in the heart of the city: The Muses\, created in 1995 from Nanto stone\, now welcomes passersby under the portico of Palazzo dei Rettori\, the seat of the Prefecture. The work\, belonging to the Fiabane Collection and previously kept in the sculptor’s private residence\, is presented for the first time in a public space\, thus restoring its original vocation as civic art. \nComposed of nine figures\, The Muses represent the quintessential inspirers\, daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne\, inspirers and protectors of every form of art\, embodying in Fiabane’s vision a powerful synthesis between classical roots and contemporary research\, presenting the public with a work that is both solemn and intensely poetic. \nRetrospective exhibition of the artist

SUMMARY:Fiera dell'oggetto ritrovato

SUMMARY:Giornate FAI d'autunno - visita speciale
DESCRIPTION:Comfortable shoes and layered clothing are recommended. Special guided tour discovering some ancient Feltre convents \nThe FAI Autumn Days are back\, the great autumn event in the square that FAI dedicates to the cultural and landscape heritage of our country\, animated and promoted by the FAI Youth Groups\, with the support of all the Delegations. \nWe look forward to seeing you in Feltre for a special visit: We gather the scattered leaves of the convents of Feltre. \nIn this guided tour\, we will discover the architectural and artistic details of some ancient suppressed Feltrinian convents: the convent of Santa Chiara\, that of San Pietro in Vincoli\, and that of Santa Maria degli Angeli. \nAmong the visible remains outside\, there is an arch that provided access to the complex of the Conventual Franciscan friars\, two portals that led to the convent of the nuns of Santa Chiara\, and part of the ancient cloister at Santa Maria degli Angeli. \nWe will then see some splendid marble altars with paintings that once belonged to the collections of these demolished monastic complexes. \nTo make a reservation\, follow the following link. \nVisit with a free contribution starting from €5 for FAI members and €7 for non-members.

SUMMARY:Museo regionale dell'Uomo in Cansiglio e Centro etnografico e di cultura cimbra
DESCRIPTION:Program for Sunday\, October 5:2:30 PM guided tour of the museum. \nProgram for Sunday\, October 12:2:30 PM guided tour of the museum. \nProgram for Sunday\, October 19:2:30 PM guided tour of the museum. \nProgram for Sunday\, October 26:2:30 PM guided tour of the museum. \nOpening hours: from June 1 to September 30: Thursday and Friday 2 PM – 6 PM // Saturday\, Sunday and holidays 10 AM – 12:30 PM and 2 PM – 6 PM.Open year-round for groups upon request. \nThe Cansiglio is a pre-Alpine plateau between the provinces of Belluno\, Treviso\, and Pordenone. With its characteristic basin shape\, it is a true paradise for hiking due to its forest\, which is the second largest in Italy. In this territory\, there is a Cimbrian ethnic settlement dating back to the early 1800s.Of German origin\, this population comes from Roana\, one of the seven municipalities of the Vicentine plateau\, which settled here due to the rich beech forests\, a plant species suitable for artisanal works. Currently\, the villages of Campon and Pian Osteria are inhabited by the Cimbri\, while there are traces of some typical constructions in Le Rotte\, Vallorch\, I Pich\, Pian Canaie\, Canaie\, Pian dei Lovi\, and Valbona. The historical building in Pian Osteria houses the Ethnographic Museum and the Cimbrian culture museum; it is open every day from June 15 to September 15 and can also be visited by reservation during other times of the year. Among the sections\, the first is dedicated to woodworking; the second is dedicated to the artisanal activities of the Cimbri; the third is dedicated to the library and the screening of videos about Cansiglio and Cimbrian culture\, its history\, and its legends. Finally\, the delightful dining: the restaurants in Cansiglio offer Cimbrian recipes passed down through generations. \nFor information\, call 333 3513668 or email francescoazzalini@libero.it.

SUMMARY:Il bramito dei cervi nelle Dolomiti Bellunesi
DESCRIPTION:We recommend wearing warm\, comfortable\, sporty layered clothing. On your feet\, technical socks made of wool or thick cotton (NO short socks)\, hiking boots or shoes with a rugged sole suitable for moving on uneven terrain (NO sneakers with smooth soles). Windbreaker\, poncho or k-way\, fleece or sweater\, umbrella\, hat or bandana. In case of the presence of children\, always bring a few spare garments. For wildlife excursions\, avoid bright colors and prefer black\, gray\, brown\, or green. \nIt’s the month of deer love\, in which the males make their love song heard loudly. \nAt any time of the year\, nature can gift something magical and exciting. \n The beginning of autumn corresponds to the season of the deer mating: the woods come alive\, and the silence is broken by their roaring. Around the middle of autumn\, in fact\, male deer create a harem made up of many females\, and they defend this harem with all their strength and voice. \nTo let other males know that this is their territory\, the deer emit a characteristic sound\, the roar\, a poignant call of love\, audible even kilometers away. Based on vocal power\, real challenges are created. \nIn many cases\, the confrontation remains at the “vocal” level\, but if the power of the roars of the two deer is not enough to establish supremacy\, it leads to a showdown in the form of a display: the two deer study each other from a distance\, perform challenge movements without touching each other\, and showcase themselves. The one with a more imposing physique and larger antlers wins. \n A truly special month to experience in Valbelluna and in one of the most beautiful forests in Europe\, the Cansiglio Forest. \n The excursions will take place in the afternoon evening\, between light and dark. \n  The cost: 25 euros for adults – free for minors between 6 and 15 years old

SUMMARY:Cara acqua\, acqua cara - relazioni d'acqua
DESCRIPTION:“Dear water\, dear water – water relationships” is a collection of installations\, including some unpublished ones\, that traces an artistic research on the theme of water developed by the artist Giorgio Vazza over more than thirty years. \nBorgo Piave ETC aps is pleased to present the new solo exhibition by Giorgio Vazza entitled “Dear water\, dear water – Water relations” which will be held at the Noble Floor of Palazzo Doglioni\, in via dei Molini 3 in Borgo Piave di Belluno\, on the days of October 4\, 9\, 10\, 11\, and 12\, 2025 from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm. \nThis is a collection of installations\, including some unpublished ones\, that retraces an artistic research on the theme of water developed by the artist over more than thirty years. \nThe theme of water\, the artist\, and the chosen dates are not random; this solo exhibition aims to be an opportunity to create reflections on the recent history of Borgo Piave and its relationship with the river: in the last century\, the Vajont disaster in 1963\, which directly affected Vazza\, who was then residing in Muda Maè\, and the flood of 1966 prompted choices including the relocation of the Borgo Piave community\, which had lived and worked on the river for centuries\, to another area of the city. \nThis led to a roughly 20-year abandonment of what had once been the river port of the City of Belluno and a temporary loss of the history associated with this place\, which has fortunately been rediscovered today with the Museum of the River Port and the Raftmen of Borgo Piave. \nKeeping the exhibition open on October 9 also becomes a gesture of remembrance for the Vajont disaster\, which was a social disaster for the Borgo Piave community. \nFurthermore\, the exhibition will provide further insights related to water as a resource and source of life\, as well as its usage today in a world where we hear daily about supply\, drought\, and hydroelectric reservoirs. \nThe exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday\, October 4 at 5:00 pm\, featuring a speech by Flavio Faoro and an introduction by Antonio Gheno\, president of Borgo Piave ETC aps. \n“Water as a primordial element linked to life\, to its birth and development since the beginning. \nWater as a connection that marks the relationship between man and himself\, with the community\, with the places he inhabits and traverses. \nWater as a resource between harmonious coexistence and wild exploitation. \nWater that enchants\, drips\, flows. Water that marks\, bursts\, and overwhelms. \nWater evoked\, imagined\, and lived. \nWater that flows like the flow of our thoughts. \nAn artistic journey that starts from a personal experience and retraces the intrinsic bond between man and water. Between us and life.” Giorgio Vazza. \nFor more information\, contact segreteria@borgopiaveetc.it
