SUMMARY:Mail Art
DESCRIPTION:The Municipality of Borgo Valbelluna\, the Workers’ Society of Lentiai\, and the AUSER of Lentiai promote the Mail Art project. \nMail Art is an artistic practice that uses the postal service to send and receive “works of art\,” usually of small dimensions\, such as postcards and illustrated envelopes. \nIn an era dominated by digital communications\, the aim is to rediscover the value of postal correspondence as a form of relational art and as a tool for building connections through creativity. \nThe project is open to every artistic language: painting\, poetry\, singing\, sculpture\, writing\, illustration\, and music. \nThe young people have created “mini works” that have been sent and will be sent to artists\, museums\, galleries\, cultural associations\, radio stations\, and record labels\, asking them for a creative response and a brief testimony of their activity. \nThe invitation is not only directed at artists but also to cultural institutions\, museums\, galleries\, and associations that can share their projects and highlight interested artists\, or contribute by spreading the attached letter to the artists they collaborate with. \nAll material received will be collected and kept by the Municipality of Borgo Valbelluna (the Mel fraction – Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club)\, with the ambitious goal of transforming the town into the “Municipality of Mail Art\,” by organizing public exhibitions of the works received. \n“We want this initiative to grow over time and become an opportunity for dialogue between different artistic languages\, enhancing the human and creative contact that a simple letter can generate\,” explains Marco Bellotto\, president of the SOMS. \n Organizers of the Mail Art project: Marco Bellotto\, Christian Benincà\, Lorenzo Durante (President Auser)\, Annalisa Gasperin\, Duilio Maggis\, Hane Ponik\, Zoe Zanella. Collaborators: Matteo Bellotto\, Walter Bernardi\, Mauro Bianchet\, Patrizia Milani\, Barbara Pasa\, Alex Pergher\, Caterina Pison. \n For all information\, contact the IAT of Borgo Valbelluna

DESCRIPTION:Embark on a sensory journey to discover an artistic expression that transcends the boundaries of time and space. Ancestral masks\, enigmatic sculptures\, and symbol-rich textiles lead us into a world where art is a universal language\, capable of communicating emotions and millennia-old stories. \nFrom the depths of the African soul emerge shapes and colors that speak of life\, death\, fertility\, and spirituality. Each artwork is a narrative\, a fragment of a larger puzzle\, inviting us to decipher the codes of a culture rich in meaning. \nAfrican art is not merely an aesthetic expression but a bridge between the visible and the invisible\, a profound connection between humanity and nature. Its sinuous lines and essential forms remind us of the beauty of simplicity and the importance of connecting with our roots. \nFrom the remotest savannas to the most hidden villages\, African art has evolved over centuries\, adapting to the changes and challenges of history. Yet\, despite these transformations\, it has preserved its authenticity and its ability to move us. \nThis exhibition invites you to discover a world often overlooked\, to overcome stereotypes\, and to appreciate the richness and diversity of an art that has inspired great masters such as Picasso and Matisse. An experience that invites us to reflect on our relationship with the world and rediscover the value of humanity. \nAfrica\, a continent whose voice is art

SUMMARY:Mostra fotografica "Ritratti di un tempo"
DESCRIPTION:A journey into memory through faces\, places\, and stories of a bygone era\, a prime example of vernacular photography. This is what the exhibition “Portraits of a Time” offers\, set up at the Museum of Stone and Stoneworkers in Castellavazzo (Longarone – Belluno). The exhibition will be open until the end of March\, on weekends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The exhibition showcases the photographic glass slides of Lorenzo Bergamasco\, known as “Modesta\,” a photographer and stonecutter born around 1866\, whose work managed to crystallize moments of daily life between the end of the nineteenth century and the early twentieth century. \n**A craftsman and photographer of the past**Lorenzo Bergamasco\, originally from Castellavazzo\, primarily operated as a local photographer\, capturing the faces of his fellow townspeople and the surrounding landscapes. Like many from Belluno of his time\, he shared the profession of stonecutter\, tied to the ancient tradition of stone work. His passion for photography led him to document an era when each image was unique\, far from the repetition and ease of today’s digital shots. \nSome of his descendants\, including his grandson Narciso\, later emigrated to the United States\, contributing to the Belluno diaspora towards New Jersey. Before his passing\, Narciso donated about two hundred slides to the Stone and Stoneworkers Association\, returning a valuable historical testimony to the community. \n**A delicate photographic recovery**The slides\, precursors to photographic film\, were in critical condition at the time of their discovery. Mold\, scratches\, and superficial damage had compromised many images\, making it difficult to distinguish the details of the captured subjects. Thanks to the efforts of the Bruto Recalchi Photographic Club\, the photographs were recovered through careful scanning and photo retouching\, allowing for the creation of typographic prints. \n**The exhibition**The exhibition includes both restored images and some original slides\, displayed to show the evolution of the restoration work. The setup at the Museum of Stone and Stoneworkers creates an ideal link between the artisanal tradition of stoneworking and the art of photography\, both rooted in the history of Castellavazzo. \nThe event represents an opportunity to rediscover the value of an era when photographs were more than mere images: true windows to the past\, capable of telling stories and preserving identities. \n**The exhibition\, curated by the Bruto Recalchi Photographic Club of Longarone\, is hosted at the Museum of Stone and Stoneworkers\, Via Roma 16\, loc. Castellavazzo (Longarone\, BL). Open until the end of March\, on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM\, with a regular entrance ticket of 3 euros that includes the exhibition and the museum.**A journey into memory through faces\, places\, and stories of a bygone era.
