The plateau is located in the extreme western edge of Feltres area. It is crossed by the river Cismon and it is historically important for the passage of the ancient Roman road, the “Via Claudia Augusta”.
The territory of Lamon is composed by more than 130 km of picturesque streets and hundreds of miles of paths that run through the mountain which preserve almost intact its charm and millenary work of nature in its bowels.
The agro-pastoral mountain culture made Lamon a typical village due to its traditions and its very original accents. The land of Lamon lended itself particularly to the cultivation of beans that became the stars of the local cuisine and of the famous festival of the bean of Lamon.
Standing on the woody slopes of the Vette Feltrine, where the Mount Vallazza and Mount Pavione stand out, the plateau of Sovramonte is composed by five villages: Sorriva, Zorzoi, Servo, Aune and Faller. In this area you can admire places of special natural value, first of all the “Busa delle Vette”, defined by experts as the "Busa delle Meraviglie" (Hole of Wonderland) thanks to the precious ecosystem it is representing.
To reach this place just follow the path CAI that starts from “passo Croce D'Aune”. Besides a great natural wealth, the plateau is also composed of rich historical and artistic heritages that can be seen in the numerous and ancient churches, as in the church of San Giorgio in Soriva, or the one dedicated to St. Zenone in Zorzoi, which is rich of precious frescoes and masterpieces of sacred art. The fourth Sunday of October is celebrated as the feast of the Prussian apple, which is present along the valleys of the village of Faller since many years.
At the end of the ‘800 many local miners emigrated to Prussia and then came back with the famous "calmelle." From that time on the apple became very important for the life and the economy of the village and its people, since it represented a real livelihood.
